Swetha's p.o.v:

I am sitting beside Anu's bed and looking at her, holding her hand. The monitor beeping is the only sound in the room. All the times we spent together laughing just flashed in my mind.

After a while, Anu regained her consciousness and slowly turned towards me. My eyes welled up with tears seeing her like that. She gave my hand a light squeeze to comfort me.

At the same time Karan came in and his face made it clear how much worried he is. He silently stood at the door looking at Anu.

"She is completely fine. Just some blood loss. There is nothing to worry." I told him to pacify him cool down his nerves.

He nodded not even once looking away from Anu.

Anu slowly sat up on the bed and called me to sit beside her. She gestured Karan to sit on the stool.

Soon we three started talking about my childhood and the things I did. During All this time, Karan kept looking at Anu.

I understood that Karan liked Anu and he seemed like a good guy. Even Anu was fine with him staring at her all the time.

Jay's p.o.v:

As soon as the plane landed, I took a taxi to her house. I reached her house and the servant answered the door. I was led to the living room and there was my mom sitting on the sofa.

"So, the prodigal son finally returns", her eyes were emotion less.

"I need to talk to you. It's important.", I replied.

"Oh! So you are here because you want something and that something is clearly not me. Let's be formal then. How can I help you Jay?" Her voice was a little bit sarcastic.

"I am here to offer you a deal." I believe it's best to complete this discussion fast, so that I could leave.

"Deal? About what? What do I have that you want?" She was puzzled.

"It's not about something you have. It's about you, not taking something I have."

"I couldn't understand. Why would I take something from you when I have everything here?"

I was silent for a minute and that is enough for her to get what's on my mind.

"It's about that girl isn't it? I knew your father wouldn't leave that child so easily. I have always been suspicious but your father didn't leave a clue to find her."

"Yes it's about her. It's about my sister whom you abandoned on her birth just because she is a girl. I am here to talk about my first heart break." I was getting furious and I knew I need to calm down in order to make this deal.

"Ok. I get it. What's about her now?"

"I found her and I am going to bring her home and I need you to stay away from us."

"You found her? Okay. You can bring her home after she becomes eighteen, right. Then you don't have the need to make a deal with me. But you are so determined to bring her home now. Why?"

"Why do you care? Just tell me what you want to let this happen."

"True. I don't care about your reason. Now coming to the deal, your father gave me 10% of the whole wealth he made and I can live my whole life happily with that. But you know how much greedy I am. So I want another 10% under my name."

I knew she was asking too much but I was determined to do anything to keep my sister with me.

I agreed to the deal and she was delighted.

"I think it's time for me to leave." I was about to get up when she gestured me to sit.

"Who is the girl? Do I know her?"

"Everyone will know her very soon."

"Okay. Make sure the property is transferred soon."

I hated her for this very thing. Emotions never mattered to her. I quickly returned to the airport and boarded my flight got on the plane.

Soon I reached my home and found Uncle and Aunt sitting on the couch. I told them about my meeting and they were happy.

"Jay. We sent Trisha to live with Grandma. She will be completing her education in some college nearby. We thought it would be better for everyone." Uncle told me with pain filled tone.

"I hope she will understand once she gets to know the truth. Now let's go to the hospital. I want to be with Anu."

We reached the hospital, Uncle and aunt decided to stay outside the room to let me talk to Anu. I entered the room and found Anu smiling with Swetha and Karan. All their eyes turned towards me as I closed the door behind me.

"Can I have a minute with Anu?"

Anu's p.o.v:

Both Karan and Swetha nodded and left the room. Jay slowly walked to my side and sat on the stool. He held my hand in between his hands and it felt comforting.

"How are you feeling Anu?"

I didn't speak a word. I kept staring at the ceiling and it somehow became the most interesting thing in the world.

He let out a sigh. "Anu, I know you have so many questions right now. I am here to answer them but before I need to tell you something. Please listen me out."

I wanted to ask him to answer my questions straight away, but I thought it's better to listen to him first.

"Dad always wanted a daughter. He loved to play with Trisha when she was months old. When mom was pregnant for the second time he felt so much excited. He was always confident it was a girl. On the other hand, mom never wanted a girl. She only stated that she has no interest in raising a daughter doing all girly things. She wanted to be free. Eventually, it was a girl. She was devastated by that and didn't take the infant near her. She wanted the child to be gone. But dad somehow managed to get his daughter to a family who would love her as their own. He made sure she has a good life until she turns eighteen. Mom had her doubts and didn't let dad go on any business trips alone. She even didn't let any girl child near him. She made sure he never spoke with his daughter."

He gave my hand a little squeeze and I looked towards him. He was so much broken and tears were threatening to come out. I sat up straight and turned towards him. I cupped his face with my palms.

"I am sorry. I never knew all this. I understand how much pain you went through all your childhood."

He gave me a small smile and wiped his eyes.

"Do you who that family was?"

"Yeah.I know Anu. Why?"

"I want to see that lucky girl who got you to take care of her. Seeing how much she means to you, I am really happy that she has you as her brother."

He chuckled for a moment. "You are that child Anu. You are my sister I missed so much from my childhood."

My mind went black after hearing that. ' I am the girl my brother liked so much. So now I have a brother who cares about me so much.'
