The blaring sound of the bell emphasised the end of the day. I dragged myself out of the school as there wouldn't be Swetha at home to talk.I plugged in my headphones and started walking home. I felt someone tugging at my bag. I looked back and saw Dev flashing me his signature smile.
"What are you doing here?" My voice was emotionless.
"I just decided to accompany you till your house." He stated as if it was nothing.
I know he will be coming no matter what I say, so I just decided to walk. I stopped the music and started talking with him.
"Why are you actually talking to me?", I asked him looking at his face for some emotion. Something about him always feels off, my mind always keeps telling something is not right.
"You are my best friend's sister. Of course your relationship is not good but I want to know you."
"Why? Why do you want to know me?"
"May be it will help when you and your brother bond with each other." He said shrugging.
"Yeah, in your dreams. Well here's my house. Thank you for walking with me." I flashed him a genuine smile.
He waved his hand, "See you tomorrow in college. Bye Anu."
I felt happy as I would be having someone to talk tomorrow at college.
Unknown p.o.v:
I was lying on my bed staring at the roof and thinking about my whole day at college. The first thing that struck my mind was her smile. The way she would smile always made my heart to skip a beat. The way she plays with her hair and the annoyed look that she gives.
I am falling for her even without knowing much about her. I love that girl. I know she is my best friend's sister but I can't resist myself from falling for her. Also I can't choose between Anu and Jay. So I will fix their relationship so that I can have them both.
I took out my phone and texted Jay.
"Jay, we need to talk".
"Ok. What is it? Don't tell me you are wasted in a bar and I need to pick you."
I could practically see his stupid smile on reading the message.
"Don't forget that I am the one who actually picks you."
"Ok fine. Jokes apart what's the matter."
"Come to our spot. I will be waiting."
"Ok. I will be there in 5 minutes."
I stood there waiting for Jay. I have so many things crossing my mind but I know I need to concentrate and ask him what I needed to know without annoying him or hurting him.
I snapped out of the thoughts when I saw his car coming towards me.
"Hey dude." ,he greeted me while hugging me.
"Hi Jay."
" What's it you wanted to talk about?" , he asked looking at me.
"Well we haven't been hanging out much these days. So I just wanted to catch with you about few things."
"Okay", he was not sure where the discussion is going to lead.
" It seems we aren't welcome at your house anymore.", I said jokingly.
"Well, you should talk about that to my aunt."
"I never met her. How does she even have a problem with us hanging at your place?", I was confused.
"Haha. Seems like Anu needs time to settle around, so we decided that I would hang with you outside the house."
"So you care about her?"
His expression suddenly changed and the coolness in the situation was all lost with the mention of her name.
"No. I don't care about her. I care what my aunt thinks. That's it." I can see the frustration in his eyes.
"Okay. I get it." I understood that there is no way the discussion about my feelings for Anu would end in a good way. So I chose to leave it for the next time.
'I may not tell anyone how I feel about you but I love you with all my heart. I fell for you from the first time I saw you in the parking area.'
