Crocus was truly breathtaking. Sting, Rogue and I arrived the afternoon before the Games were to begin, therefore we had plenty of time to explore the capital of Fiore. When it came to what we wanted to explore, however, there became some disagreement between the boys and I. While the boys wanted to actually explore the city, I was more focused on seeing the people that I've been missing for years. Based on what Master told me before we left, Natsu, Gray, and Erza would be participating for the Fairy Tail team, therefore it was expected of me to follow them as soon as they arrived in Crocus.
After about an hour of walking around the brick streets of Crocus, Rogue and Sting finally left to go explore the castle. Once they were out of sight, I ran into a nearby ally and climbed up the fire escape of an abandoned building. The building was the perfect height for me to see most of Crocus, giving me a chance to sit and watch for the arrival of Fairy Tail. I will say, though I knew I wouldn't come face to face with them, I was pretty nervous. Deep down I had to come to terms with the fact that they wouldn't be the same people I knew before I left. Sure, I was only gone for a few months in the Dragon Realm, but in the human world 8 1/2 years had gone by.
I was pulled out of thought when a large crash came from my left. I jolted around in time to see a puff of smoke appear about 2 blocks down. Though I wasn't sure what exactly had happened, I knew who had caused it. I jumped along the rooftops until I came up to where the commotion had occurred. Through the smoke I could make out the pink hair of a certain fire dragon slayer.
"I guess even after 8 years he still is very destructive," I thought to myself.
As the smoke cleared, more familiar faces came into view. Surrounding Natsu was Gray and Erza, along with a small blue haired girl and a slim blonde haired girl. The blue haired girl is the sky dragon slayer, Wendy I believe her name was. I remember Grandeeny telling me stories during my training. The blonde haired girl was what stumped me, however. Something about her seemed extremely familiar, yet I was sure that she hadn't been in the guild when I was.
While I was so intrigued with finally getting to see my old friends, I became a bit too careless. A gust of wind suddenly swept by me and blew into the ally below. Before I had released what had happened, Natsu looked up, staring me straight in the eyes. The sun was to my back, therefore all he could see was my silhouette, yet it hadn't crossed my mind to mask my scent. I noticed Natsu's eyes get big at the realization that he recognized my scent, and just as he was about to shout my name, the blonde girl screamed. Natsu looked over at her, giving me my chance to escape. I ran to the other side of the roof and jumped down into the ally, changing the wind at the same time. Whoever that girl was, I would have to thank her at some point. Seeing what I needed to see, I walked along the road away from the commotion, making my way towards where Master was staying.
Sabertooth is known among the wizarding community as stuck up and full of themselves, even resting on the boarder of being a dark guild, and those accusations aren't exactly far off. Master just so happened to be staying in the most evil looking building in the entire town of Crocus, which only went to encourage the stereotypes. I walked up the creaky stairs to Master's room and knocked on the door.
"What do you have to report." Master said as i entered the room. It was completely dark inside, the only light coming through the curtains on the window.
"They're here, and just as destructive as ever." I replied, closing the door behind me. "Master, since it seems as though I will be spending most of my time tailing them, is there anything else I should know?" I asked.
" From what you've reported to me in the past, it appears as though you have extensive knowledge about the Fairies." Master spoke from the corner of the room. It is true, I have given some insight into Fairy Tail to the Master of Sabertooth, but it would be impossible for me to gain anything without first giving something. If I wanted Master to tell me what he knew about Fairy Tail, I needed to gain his trust by giving him some of my Fairy Tail knowledge. Equivalent Exchange.
"My knowledge is more about before they went missing, I seem to lack in why they went missing." I replied.
"It is only rumors, but it is said that while on a secret island they were attacked by a dragon." Master informed me. Now I was confused. How could a dragon have attacked them? I was with the dragons during the time of their disappearance, plus none of them would ever dream of hurting the humans.
"Dragons haven't been around for over 400 years, how would a dragon have done anything?" I asked.
"The dragon said to have done this isn't an ordinary dragon. The stories say that he started out as a human with the power of dragon slaying magic. He became extremely power hungry, eventually being turned into a dragon with the help of the darkest wizard ever." Master explained.
"Who?" I asked.
"Dark dragon Acnologia and dark wizard Zeref."
