The glowing bluish purple portal appeared infront of me. I sighed, knowing that this was it, there was no going back. With my head held high, I stepped into the portal.
The beautiful lake landscape with the forest and mountains appeared infront of me, the same landscape as last time. I looked up towards the tallest of the montains, knowing that was Igneel's volcano home. Just as I expected, I saw a large figure fly down from the top of it, flying straight towards me.
"I honestly wasn't sure if you would show up," Igneel said as he landed on the beach next to me.
"You have low expectations of me then," I replied, staring into the blue water.
"Not every person is able to leave everything behind, if anything you far passed my expectations." He said, looking over at me.
"As much as I would love to sit here and be praised, I would like to get to my training as soon as possible." I told him as I turned away from the water.
"Probably for the best, for there is a lot you must learn. Before any training begins, however, allow me to show you around the land," Igneel lowered his wing, ushering me to get on. Hesitating, I slowly walked over to the giant fire dragon and got on his back.
"You've never ridden a dragon before, have you?" he asked me as I settled in.
"It's not like there are any present day dragons in Fiore," I said in a matter-of-fact-tone.
"Right. Well anyway, let us be off." And with that, Igneel pushed his giant wings as we flew into the air. Flying through the open air on a dragons back is truly the greatest thing you will ever experience. The wind running through your hair, being able to see for miles in every direction, it was truly breathtaking. Of course, it was over quicker then I would have liked it to be, because soon enough we landed in the forest about a mile from the lake. On a small hill surrounded by trees stood a nice sized wood cabin. It had large windows and a deck with great views of the lake and mountains, while the front porch had a wonderful view of the forest.
" Since this world is full of dragons, we don't really have any living spaces suitable for humans, so I hope this will work for you." Igneel said, letting me off his back.
"It's beautiful, I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever." I told him, walking towards the house.
" Go ahead and take a look around, I'm going to go collect the first few dragons who are going to train you," Igneel said as he took off into the afternoon sky.
I walked up the few wooden steps leading up to the front porch. The porch was covered with a continuation of the roof and had a triangle shape to it. To the left was two wooden rocking chairs separated by a small wooden side table. The door was large and had a glass window in the center. I grabbed the doornob and pushed the door open, walking into the house.
"Wow," I said aloud as I looked around. Straight ahead of me was the sliding glass door leading onto the back deck. To the right was a large living area that contained, you guessed it, wood furniture. It really did have a nice cabin feel to it. On the east wall there was a wonderful brick fireplace with a small stack of wood stacked next to it. Turning to the west, I walked into the grand kitchen. The cabinets were a dark wood while the countertops were a pretty tan/brown granite. The look was completed with the stainless steel appliences and the island in the middle. Infront of the back widow sat a medium sized table with four chairs, obviously the dining room. I walked back over to the living room and went down a small hallway near the front door.
The hallway contained two doors. The door on the left was the bathroom which was decorated similarly to the kitchen when it came to the counters and such. The door on the right was the bedroom, and it was beautiful. Like the rest of the house, it had a nice, cozy feel. I turned and walked back into the living room and towards the sliding glass door. I went onto the deck and looked at the beautiful scenery infront of me. The hill, lined with pinetrees, sloped down until is reached the lake. The lake streched on for what seemed like a mile before meeting up with a line of mountains. I looked up at the blue sky and saw the outline of five dragons coming towards me.
I turned away from the wonderful landscape and went back to the front of the house to await the arrival of the dragons. As they got closer, I could make out what each dragon looked like. Igneel was in the front, of course, and he was directally followed by two white dragons, a silver dragon, and a black dragon.
"Everyone, this is Rayn, the one who you will train." Igneel told the dragons as they landed next to me. "Rayn," he said, turning to me, "this is Metalicana." He said ushering to the silver dragon. "He is the Iron Dragon. This is Grandeeney, the Sky Dragon," the first white dragon nodded her head at me. "This dragon is Skiadrum, the Shadow Dragon," the black dragon looked around shyly. "And this is Weissologia, the Light Dragon." The other white dragon proudly held his head up high.
"Nice to meet you all, I'm very excited to be training with you," I said looking at all the dragons.
"Well, no time to dilly dally, let's begin." Metalicana said as the other dragons nodded in agreement. Well, here's to my life for the next who knows how long.
A little short, sorry. This chapter actually took me a while to write, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with it. Anyway, I hope you liked it, See you in the next chapter!
