Part 6 ; our first "i love you"

We had been dating for about five months. We were watching the sunset in the Mary Peter Park

Adelaide & I, were at the park. We were on a walk in the park. Something simple. I gazed at Adelaide, I told Ethan and Cooper about it. They told me to say it, so I didn't live in regret.
"Elliot, it's 4:20 the sun's about to set!"
"Alright, let's watch it." I agreed with her. She walked to a spot by the lake and sat down. She grabbed a hair tie from her wrist and tied her hair in a short pony tail. Considering her layers that she recently got, wisps of her natural black hair fell out. She looked effortlessly beautiful. I walked next to her and embraced her. I put my chin atop her head and she snuggled closer into me.
"Dede," I whispered to her ear.
She giggled, as she shifted her head to look up at me. She softly kissed my lip and wrapped her arms around my waist. I held her back. "Hm?" She said softly.
"When the sun sets, darling. I have something to tell you." I kissed her head
"Okay, love."
We watched in silence. When you love someone, the silences with them aren't awkward. They're peaceful and utterly divine.
"Elliot," Adelaide snapped up.
"Yes dear?" I smiled.
"Can you tell me now?" She cheekily grinned. She added a small 'please' at the end
"Are you ready?", At that moment i wanted to say it. It was the moment. Everything was perfect.
"I love you." I uttered out barely a whisper. She looked up at me with gloss over her eyes
"Really?" She asked surprised. I felt my cheeks rising in temperature. "Yeah," I smiled shyly.
There was a silent moment until Adelaide crashed her lips onto mine and kissed me into eternity. It was the deepest, loving kiss we had, had. Our lips were moving entirely in sync, in that moment I forgot our differences, all I felt was love, and I knew that Adelaide was the one.
She parted our lips. "I love you too" she said breathlessly. Placing her lips back atop mine for a long lasting kiss.
