Adelaide and I recognized that we couldn't defy it. The harder we resented each other, everyone else would push us back 2x harder

In year 12, Adelaide and I had all out classes together except even lunch. If you told me in February that Ade and I were going to fall in love by the end of October I would have laughed my internal organs out. Ew, add that to the list of 245,008,678,01 things I'll never say again. We started loosing up towards the ending of the first term. It was our Maths teacher, Mrs. McDillon when she assigned our new seats and me and Adelaide sat next to each other, again

"Oh my goodness" I mumbled as I saw my number posted next to where Adelaide was currently sitting. An inkling of hope came quickly through that maybe she was just chatting with Madison Sinclair, one of Adelaide's friends until Mrs. McDillon came and told us to get to our seats. But than I saw that Adelaide's number was on the desk and I sighed and sat down and slumped. I didn't bother taking off my book bag and getting my stuff ready. I slumped down my legs sprawled across and my hands crossed over my chest. I sighed of annoyance of Madison and Adelaide talking about their favorite shops.

Mrs. McDillon walked into class and a couple of minutes later the late bell rang. That's when she began talking about a group project.

"I already assigned your guys' partners, and if you have any problem with it sorry. "

She started with the list of partners;

"Lance, Kara"

" Gilbert, Abigail"

"Elizabeth, Cary"

I noticed that everyone was paired up with who they were sitting next to. 'No duh,' obviously who else was she going to pair me up with.

Mrs. McDillon came up and began

"Elliot you-"

I interrupted, "don't bother I know, I'm with Adelaide, like always. ''

She let out a chuckle

"Well, you guys do make a great team!"

"Yeah but we don't even like each other. " Adelaide butted in

"Why do you guys even hate each other?" she asked, exasperated.

I picked up the packet and adjusted myself, sitting upright and reached for a pencil from my bookbag and than i slung it back onto my back

"Mrs.McDillon, has a point ya know?''

"What?'' I turned to face Adelaide

"Why do we hate eachother?'' She began, " I mean I'm quite sick of it, aren't you? Everyone pushing us together yet we're practically like Voldedemort & Harry''

i pondered what she said for a couple of seconds,' You're actually right, i mean of course if I'm the dashing, adoring Harry and you're the wretched Voldemort" I teased

"Oh, please, you're so full of yourself. " she chuckled

I remembered after that we kept talking we almost forgot that we had the assignment, that was after around maybe 25+ minutes when Mrs. McDillon came shouting "ONLY A COUPLE OF MINUTES LEFT CHILDREN!"
