It absolutely amazes me at how many of you have read this story! Thank you so much for loving it and keeping up with it even when I don't update very often. Y'all really are the best.

I haven't looked at anything Hetalia in months but I was bored and quarantined and was like hey there are probably at least two people invested in this story, let's not let them down. So here you go.  You probably won't like this chapter anyway.

(Over the past few weeks)

Alfred and Kiku were hanging out more and more, and they became very good friends. Alfred spoke to Kiku as he would any of his friends. But what Alfred didn't know, was how impactful this became for Kiku.

Kiku didn't really have anybody he could go to for venting, or just to chat normally. Nobody ever made the effort to become friends with him. But Alfred's entering of his life, improved it substantially. Kiku finally had someone who he could talk to about anything. And he'd listen. For the first time, he was happy with hearing someone else's voice talk for hours on end about complete and utter nonsense. Kiku was practically glowing, thought he never showed it.

And since this was his only friendship, Kiku began to naturally form feelings for the Gryffendor. It was subtle at first, but it grew.

(Back to normal chronological time or whatever)

Kiku was in his dormitory, writing an essay for Potions when he heard a knock on the window right next to him. He looked over and saw that it was an owl, tapping on the glass, carrying what seemed to be a piece of parchment. He opened the window and took the message from the bird, unraveling it.

"hey its alfred :p"  Kiku held the message. He didn't know what was so exhilarating about this message, but something about it made him feel some type of way.

He figured the only thing left to do was to reply to the blond. "Hello, Alfred. How are you?" He gave the message to the owl who had delivered in the first place, sending it off to the Gryffendor boy.

When Alfred received a reply, he felt butterflies in his stomach, but at the same time, it felt like an anvil had fallen. He decided to ignore that last feeling and read the message. Kiku's handwriting was neat and structured. It reminded him of someone else's handwriting.

He wrote another message on the parchment. One which his brain found wonderfully amusing, but his heart felt the opposite. "im great but im just thinkin about ya"

He sent the message, not knowing why he felt so guilty. And why this all felt so familiar. He then remembered back to second year, when he was exchanging notes with Arthur the same way. Arthur. He now knew why this all felt so wrong. He had a boyfriend, why was he going after Kiku? Did he let the blond down? Did he excite the Ravenclaw too much?

He immediately felt a wave of guilt rush over him as a new message arrived to him. "Really? The same was happening for me. Would you like to meet in the courtyard? I need to talk to you."

Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit! He couldn't say no, but he certainly didn't want to say yes. This was all going downhill, and fast. He sent a quick "Sure" and hurriedly put on his coat. He would explain everything to Kiku when they were there, and hopefully cut the relationship short before it became more, thus ending the predicament.

Alfred waited about two minutes in the courtyard before he saw Kiku. He was blushing and looked almost scared. "Hey, Kiku, what's up? You okay?" the blond asked.

Kiku looked up, "Yes, yes. I'm fine. I just, was a little nervous to come and see you." He said, and then realized how embarrassing it sounded. He covered his face with his scarf. He was different today. "I just, n-need to tell you something." The light snow landed on his black hair, contrasting and making it look like he had been caked in powdered sugar.

Alfred then realized his big mistake. He had made this poor boy fall for him, only because he was bored with his current relationship. But he was so fragile. He couldn't just let Kiku off here. He needed support, and it was evident, that he didn't get much of it from his other friends, if he had any.

"Kiku," Alfred decided to ask, "Did something happen?" He bent down to reach eye level, and placed his hands on his shoulders.

Kiku just began to tear up, unexpectedly, and even seemed to shock himself with this action. Alfred decided to comfort him by drawing him into a tight hug. And surprising, Kiku hugged back. He then began venting, "I don't have anyone to go to. I have no friends. You're the only real friend I have, Alfred. I don't think you understand how much you mean to me. And I'm afraid that I might like you a little more than you may like me,"

Still in the embrace, Alfred's heart stung. What had he done? He only had two choices; to return the feelings, or break it to him that it's better to just be friends. His eyes widened as he realized the depth of the situation. His mind darted to back Arthur. He needed to do what was best for Kiku, but he also needed to preserve the relationship he had with his boyfriend.

So Alfred did something he he never planned on doing. "Petrificus totalus!" he shouted, his wand turning Kiku, basically to stone. The blond ran as fast as he could to the Slytherin dormitories, to get advice from the person he trusted the most in the world.

Holy shit you can tell I've been HEAVILY influenced by Doki Doki Literature Club. I was writing this and was like "why do I know exactly what to make Kiku say in this scene" and then my brain just flashes to the picture of a crying sayori hugging mc and im like ooooohhhhh. I decided not to really change it tho.

I dont write angst this was pretty hard. I'm into FLUFF I don't know how sadness works.

Big plans, y'all. Big plans. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this rather short chapter (you probably didn't considering what happened) and hopefully you'll get an update earlier than like 4 months from now.

Remember: Romano loves you! <3
