A plan? Don't know her. We just go with whatever comes to mind here.

"I'll drop you off first, Elizabeta," Ms. Dayhalai said.

She, Lukas, and Elizabeta were walking quite fast, which worried the teens. They hoped Alfred and Arthur would be able to find the key in time. "You really don't have to walk so quickly, ma'am." Elizabeta said, looking to buy time.

"I can't, sweetie, if there is someone vandalizing a statue, I want to make sure to catch whoever's doing it. Now lets hurry and get you two to bed. What were you doing out this late anyway?" Ms. Dayhalai asked.

"Uhhhh," Elizabeta said. She hadn't thought of a cover story. Lucky for her, Lukas was already on it.

"We were walking back from helping Professor Longbottom with some late-night grading whenever we saw the kids. And our first instinct was to come to you," he said.

The Ravenclaw smiled at the white-haired boy.

"I see," said the groundskeeper as the group arrived at the Ravenclaw tower. "Well, thank you, Elizabeta for telling me. Now you get a good night's rest."

"Yes ma'am." Elizabeta said. She then answered the riddle to enter the common room, though she would not stay there long.

Lukas and Ms. Dayhalai continued walking, now down many flights of stairs. They were on course for the Slytherin dormitories when a loud "SQUAAAAAACK" stopped them dead in their tracks. It was a high pitched shriek that sounded more animal-like than anything.

"Winter!" Ms. Dayhalai said in an outburst. "Something's going on at the hut! I must get back!"

As the groundskeeper turned in the opposite direction, Lukas said in an attempt to keep her from the hut, "But ma'am. The statue." Although his voice wasn't very convincing, being so monotone.

"Winter called me. Something must be terribly wrong." she announced and ran off in the direction of her hut. There was no stopping her.

What did those two do?

The sound of the bird's call was so loud that Arthur and Alfred's ears were ringing. "Find they key! She's sure to be back soon!" Arthur yelled. Alfred nodded and the two continued searching, but this time in a much bigger rush.

However, the bird would not stop there. It pecked the air before locking it's gaze on Alfred, intent on killing him. It raised it's beak before aiming it right where the teenager stood. Alfred saw the bird revving up to puncture him, so he moved out of the way just in time as the bird's beak broke the floor where he just stood.

"We gotta get this thing fast or we're as good as worms!" Alfred yelled.

The two continued to search frantically, all the while dodging the bird's attacks. Arthur was getting fed up and knew that if they didn't find the key quickly, Mrs. Daihalai would find them first.

He pulled out his wand and shouted "Petrificus Totalus!" the bird froze in its tracks, and the two let out a breath they didn't know they were holding. Alfred looked at his boyfriend in awe before returning to his job.

Not even 1 minute later, Arthur looked out the window to see Shelly running at top speed towards them. He opened the door just as she arrived at the hut, out of breath. "Mrs... Dayhalai... she's... coming..." she was struggling to breath but eventually her message came out.

"Quick! Help us look! We have to get that key!" exclaimed Alfred.

Shelly sighed and pulled out her wand, commanding "Accio front gate key!" immediately a key flew from the dusty closet  into Shelly's palms. "Idiots. Lets go." she said. The boys were dumbfounded about how they hadn't learned that spell yet, but escaped through the door regardless.

They ran far enough away to where Mrs. Dayhalai couldn't see them as she returned home, finding Winter petrified.

The three finally returned to the group, who were scared as hell after hearing the bird's cry. "Thank heavens y'all made it okay." Elizabeta said.

"Yeah, we're here but it won't take long for Mrs. Dayhalai to connect the dots. Let's hurry."

Everyone prepared for the great escape that was ahead and they all made their way to the giant gate at the entrance to the campus. It was taller than expected and for a second they all looked in awe. Alfred squeezed Arthur's hand and whispered, "You sure about this, Artie?"

He simply nodded.

The night was dark and they all lit up their wands. Since he was the tallest, Matthias took the key and barely reached the keyhole. The air was tense as he turned the stone key. Everyone was in this moment.

The door was open.

But nobody moved.

"Guys-" began Gilbert

"Shhh" everyone quieted him. They were saying goodbye. Goodbye to a sacred place. Goodbye to a magical place. Goodbye to their identities.

And hello

to a new chapter in their lives.

Next year, I'll come back for you, Hogwarts.

And that was the last thing Alfred thought before he stepped through the gates and into the world.

I know this is a really short chapter, but I think this is all that really needed to be said. I knew I needed to update but I also need to figure out what the heck to do next. I would appreciate some suggestions if you wanna contribute. What should they do when they get out into the world as runaways?

Thank y'all for all the support!
