Jon gasped for every breath he drew in, as Ella ran to his side. He looked down to his torso and saw the newly formed scars spread across his lower abdomen. Tears formed in the young girl's eyes as she pulled her brother into a tight hug.
"You're okay, you're okay," Ella repeated, cupping Jon's face in her small hands. "You want to try to get up?"
Jon nodded his head, as his fingers traced over a large scar across his chest. The Snow twins soon turned their attention to the door as a set of footsteps grew louder and louder. Ella stood in front of Jon, protecting him from whoever was approaching. Davos Seaworth entered the door frame, his eyes widening at the sight of a living, breathing Jon Snow. Ser Davos quickly removed his cloak and cautiously walked to Jon. Jon rose too quickly, causing his unstable legs to buckle underneath him. Ella and Davos caught the white wolf before he fell to the floor.
"Easy, easy!" Davos soothed Jon as they helped him back to the table. Davos wrapped the cloak around Jon as his breathing began to even out. "What do you remember?"
At that moment, the three of them noticed Melisandre stroll into the room, her eyes widening at the sight of Jon Snow. Alive and well once more.
Jon's eyes flooded with shock and confusion as he turned to Davos. "They stabbed me. Olly. He put a knife in my heart. I shouldn't be here."
"The lady brought you back," Davos motioned to Melisandre who stood in the entrance of the door.
Melisandre drifted towards Jon, ignoring the wide-eyed stares from Ella Snow. The young girl was grateful to the Red Lady, but she could not comprehend how Jon was brought back to life. Ella had seen White Walkers and giants in her time at Castle Black, but this moment seemed like a fairy tale in her mind.
"Afterwards, after they stabbed you, where did you go? What did you see?" Melisandra asked, desperate to hear about Jon's experience in the afterlife.
"Nothing," the young man sighed. "There was nothing at all."
Though disappointment spread across her face, Melisandre reassured Jon that he was brought back for a reason. That it was the Lord of Light's will he was alive. "Stannis was not the Prince who was Promised. But someone has to be."
"Will you give us a moment?" Davos asked. The red lady nodded her head and exited the chamber, pulling the door shut as she walked out. Ella and Davos sat on stools next to Jon. Ella took her brother's hand into her hand as Davos sat on a stool in front of Jon.
"You died, and then you came back to life." Davos spoke first. "That's completely fucking mad to me. I can only imagine how it feels for you."
Jon paused for a moment before responding to Davos. "I did what I thought was right, and I got murdered for it. And now I'm back. Why?"
"None of us know Jon," Ella whispered. Jon turned her attention to his sister to let her speak up. "Maybe we're not meant to ever know. But it doesn't matter now. You keep on going though. You fight for as long as you can. You clean up as much of the shit in this world as you can. The wildlings, you, and I all know what's coming this way. I believe in my heart of hearts that it is our duty to find a way to beat them. If not, the entire country will be filled with darkness, and we'll all be erased from the world."
