Ella's head bobbled above the water as she resurfaced, gasping for air. Several wights drug her and Jon further from the surface, but the twins found strength to fought them off. Jon soon popped his head through the surface, eyes wide as he looked to his sister. Jon saw his sword next to the opening in the ice and grabbed for it. Jon dug the spiked hilt into the ice, using it to pull himself from the water. He reached for the lone wolf and slowly pulled her out of the freezing water. The Snow twins pushed themselves off the ice, gasping for air with each move they made. The twins clung to each other and began to walk away from the disastrous scene. Ella stumbled along the frozen lake, falling to her knees once she reached hard ground. The bleeding from Ella's wound subsided, but the pain still stung.

Ella heard shrieks in the distance, causing her and Jon to turn their heads. The remaining wights scurried across the ice for a second attack. Jon readied Longclaw with what little strength he had left, and Ella managed to stand to her feet. The girl was ready to face death once again.

But death never came. Instead, a cloaked man spinning chains with balls of fire attached at the end rode in, smashing any wight that stood in his way. Ella and Jon stumbled back as the man made his way towards them. He dismounted his horse and removed his cloak and mask, revealing himself to be Benjen Stark, their missing uncle. Ella and Jon assumed Benjen died beyond the wall several years ago. But there he was, saving them from the Army of the Dead.

"Uncle Benjen," she whispered through clattering teeth. "You're alive, but how?"

"No time for that now, little one" he grunted. "You two have to go. Ride for the pass. Keep low and don't stop for anything."

Benjen picked Ella off the ground, placing her on the front of the horse, followed by Jon who sat behind her.

"Come with me," she begged him. "I know Sansa and the others will be so happy to see you."

"There's no time. Go. Now!" Benjen tapped his horse on the behind, causing him to gallop away.

Ella looked over her shoulder as Benjen charged at the wights, who soon devoured him. This man, her last attachment to he father. The man who saved their lives, and they  wouldn't be able to thank him. Ella turned away from the horrendous scene as his horse carried the twins to the safety of Eastwatch.

Tormund stood atop of the Wall with Ser Davos, staring below. Waiting. For what, he didn't know. He just needed some sign from the gods that Jon and Ella was alive. He knew there was no use waiting for the girl, but maybe, just maybe she and her brother would survive.

"It's time to us to go Tormund," Davos told the wildling leader. "If they haven't made it back by now, I'm afraid there's no use of wasting our time."

"A bit longer," he grumbled, his stare not faltering from the snowy abyss below them.

"I know you miss her," Davos sighed,"we all feel her loss. And for Jon. But we have to keep going. Don't let Ella and Jon Snow's death be in vain. They would want you to continue on."

Tormund huffed, looking away from the snow covered tundra below. The wildling leader turned on his heel and began to head towards the staircase. He needed to ready the castle for the imminent attack of the Army of the Dead, and the castle was not prepared.

Tormund stopped in his tracks as the horn blew behind him. One blow, indicating a rider. Tormund felt his heart beat rapidly beneath his leather straps and fur coat. He  dashed back to the viewing deck, only to see a large horse trotting towards the castle, carrying a two riders.

"It's them," he whispered to himself. He turned to Davos and the pair dashed to the lift, lowering themselves to the base of the Wall as quickly as possible.

The gate opened slowly, and Tormund ran through the gate, Davos at his heel. The men met the horse in the middle of the passage. Ella's limp body fell from the saddle, causing Tormund to catch her before she hit the ground. He checked her chest to see any signs of life, and her chest rose slightly. Tears fell from his eyes as he pulled her close to him, stroking her tangled brown hair.

Soon other men, along with the Dragon Queen joined them in the tunnel.

Davos shook the wildling man,"we have to get her to the boats and out of those clothes before she freezes to death."

Tormund shook his head, and he carried her small frame to a rowing boat. Davos and several others followed behind him with Jon. They soon made it to Targaryen ship docked in the harbor of the sea.

Once on board, the crew carried her body below deck and settled her into the warmest room the could find, right across the hall from her brother. The crew left to give Tormund privacy with her as he ripped her frozen cloak and tunic from her body. He removed any undergarments she wore and began to wrap her body in every fur blanket they had on the ship.

Tormund settled on the edge of her bed, clasping her purple tinged hand in his warm one. Tears fell from his eyes as he sat with the girl, praying to any god to let her wake up. He spent a few hours with the girl, hoping for any sign of improvement, but there were none. Tormund sighed, rising from the bed. He kissed the girl on top of her cold matted hair.

"I have to go now, little crow," he whispered. "I promise you that this will not be the last time I see you. You will get better. And when you do, we're going to make great big beautiful babies together. We're going to defeat those dead fuckers, and once we do, we're going to start our own family. I promise you this, girl."

Tormund pressed a kiss on the top of her head one more time before leaving. As he exited her compact room, a swarm of men rushed in to check on the lone wolf. Ser Davos caught the eye of the wildling man as he approached.

"How's he doing?" Tormund asked the Onion Knight.

"He's alive for now," Davos replied. "Still asleep, but the maester says he'll recover. Ella, too."

"Good," Tormund stated. He nodded to the Onion Knight before exiting the ship. His duty to man Eastwatch would remain the same. The Army of the Dead was approaching, and the wildlings would be the first line of defense once they reached the Wall. Tormund sighed as he trudged through the snow and back into the castle. He shut his eyes, saying a silent prayer for the first time in his life, that Ella and Jon Snow would recover. That the Snow twins would make it through this and join him once more in this life.
