Chapter 15

Later that night, Alexa had joined everyone at Shawn Spears house for the big high school party. Joe was standing silently in the crowd of drunk teenagers, trying his best to avoid everyone. As usual, Peyton and Alexa were the focus of the crowd as they danced with Buddy and Shawn. It didn't take long for Alexa to feel completely out of place. She looked around at everyone and it was like they were all strangers.

"Lexi?" Peyton asked as she saw Alexa walked away.

Buddy looked on in annoyance as Shawn tried to keep dancing with Peyton. She both of them a dirty look and followed after her friend.

"Are you okay?" Peyton asked as Joe walked over.

Alexa shook her head as she stumble towards the car. Joe picked her her up and walked her to her destination. Peyton followed them as she and Alexa got in the back. Joe glanced back as Alexa laid her head in Peyton's lap.

"Hey scary guy, stop staring and drive would you?" Peyton asked in annoyance.

Joe turned around and drove off.

"I don't want it Peyton.. I don't want any of it." Alexa mumbled as her eyes filled with tears.

In the Ridges, Roman had met Becky on what appeared to be an empty street.

"So if we're really going to do this don't you think we should get to know each other a little better?" Roman asked as they began walking down the street.

"No, not really." Becky said decisively.

Roman looked over at her curiously.

"I don't even know anything about you." Roman told her.

"And?" Becky asked.

Roman stopped walking. Becky turned around and saw the stubborn look in his eyes.

"Fine. How about this.. You get three yes or no questions." Becky told him.

Roman let out a small laugh.

"That's better than nothing I guess." Roman said.

"Go on.. ask." Becky said impatiently.

Roman tried to think of questions.

"Um.. Do you have anyone? Like parents or anything?" Roman asked.

"No." Becky said.

"So you're all alone." Roman said.

"Thankfully, yes." Becky said.

Roman gave her skeptical look.

"That was two questions by the way. Last one." Becky told him.

Roman shook his head in frustration, not realizing that counted at two questions.

"Why do you want to help me find who kill my parents?" Roman asked curiously.

Becky looked up at him with hesitance.

"That's not a yes or no question. Time's up" Becky said as she continued walking.

"Since when were we timing that?" Roman asked as he tried to keep up with her.

"Since I said so." Becky told him.

Downtown, everyone was gathering at Finn's new nightclub, Princes, for the big opening. The song, "Heartless" By The Weeknd was playing throughout the club as more and more people made their way inside. Seth was sitting in his own VIP section with two girls on each side of him with Razar and Akam stood guard for him.
