I have never been so out of breath in my life.

Besides that time in the fifth grade when they made us run the four-legged race for family fun day, and Seth nearly bolted while my tiny legs dragged along the grass desperate to catch up.

Basically, it's been a long time since I've ever ran like that.

I was so relieved to finally be by myself, like I usually am until I heard a vibration decending from my pocket.

Of course my phone had to go off now, at quite possibly one of the world's worst times. I had just suffered through quite an embarassing ordeal, and I was never really fond of talking, but now I was definitely not in the mood.

I slipped my hand into the tiny pocket of my tight fitting sweat pants, to reveal my phone in the palm of my hand.

As I glanced at it's face the caller's contact name flashed on the buzzing screen and I was beyond relieved to see that it was Anna, my best friend from Toronto.

Me and Anna never really had one of those friendships were we could gossip about boys, or tell each other stories that you wouldn't believe happened to us, because well, nothing ever did happen.

Normally our conversations were boring like, what are you watching on tv tonight, or, did you get alot of homework to do?

But now, well Anna was in for a treat because I needed to tell someone about my weird feelings for Ashton and what humiliation I just went through or i would go crazy, and considering Sam had her eyes on him, telling her was definitely out of the question.

My finger slid across the screen, and after taking a deep breath and collecting myself I quickly raised the phone to my ear.

"Anna?"

My voice croaked into the other line.

"Well hello Ms. NYC where have you been?"

Anna hollered into the phone causing my body to jolt and slighty move my ear away from the phone, and then back again once I was confident her yelling was completed.

"Hey Hey I'm still here, boring as can be, although I do have some stuff I need to talk to you about."

I laughed into the other line at Anna's shrill reaction.

"Well Ash spill the beans! This is exciting news! Look at us talking about girl things! We've come a long way."

Anna laughed back into my end of the phone.

"Well we are pretty great, even if no one else thinks so. Okay so there's this boy and-"

I was cut off by a harsh scream recepted into my end of the cellphone.

"Ashley Marie! OH MY GOSH! A boy! Who? Who is he?"

Anna squealed with so much excitement I thought she was going to loose her voice.

"Let me finish! His name is Ashton and he lives right above me with his super rich family and he has a sister Amber whose our age, but don't worry! She'll never replace you Ann, it's seriously like having another Sam around. So annoying. But anyways, that's besides the point. So their parents are out or town so I invited them over for dinner, and well Ashton took me to the park this morning, Central Park, and it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. You would've loved it Ann. But anyways I totally have this huge crush on him and well, I sorta kinda thought he was gonna kiss me, but when he didn't and made a comment about how I had toothpaste on my face instead, I ran away, all the way to my apartment, and well here I am sitting in the lobby agaisnt the glass doors with my pathetic life."
