The apartment was scary quiet when I got back, which was strange because it was 9:30 am already, and normally my family was up and about by now.

I fully closed the door behind me, waiting until it made a clicking noise to fully step into the living room of my apartment.

There was now new furniture placed in the room.

An L-shaped grey suade couch with a matching love seat and a black coffee table with a silver vase filled with grey and white marbles on top was seen at the center of the living room floor.

Mom must have woken up super early and decorated the place.

"Mom? Dad? Sam? Anybody home?"

I called from the living room as I made my way into the kitchen behind the granite countertop, heading straight for the fridge.

I grabbed a water bottle off the bottom shelf, after swinging open the stainless steel metal doors.

It wasn't coffee but it was better then nothing.

"Ashley?"

A voice called from behind me and I turned around to see Sam in a light pink tank top with high waisted denim jean shorts, and her blonde hair was pulled back in a curled ponytail.

"Hey Sam, where are you heading to?"

I questioned looking her up and down, realizing she was dressed to go out for the day.

"Just around town, probablly to shop, get a bite to eat, oh and mom wants me to apply to work at the Victoria's Secret on Fifth and Broadway st. Wanna come?"

Sam squealed tighting the pony tail that sat at the back of her head.

"Sure why not."

I shrugged.

As you probablly already know, I'm not a big shopper, but if I sat in the house all day to worry about Asthon to no end I would loose it, so I figured what the heck.

A few hours walking around the city with Sam and discovering all the places in our area couldn't be that bad.

Two hours later of walking around endlessly into store after store watching Sam pick up hundreds of articles of clothing in stores we clearly couldn't afford and swipe her purple credit card into the card machine at nearly every cash register in town I realized what I thought wouldn't be that bad, in reality was.

"Sam how much stuff did you even buy?"

I questioned aggressively, flailing my fingers around to point out the 12 or so shopping bags laced on each arm.

"Alot."

Sam laughed struggling to hold all the bags in her hands.

"Yeah no kidding. Mom's gonna freak out, that credit card was supposed to be for emergencies only."

I reminded Sam, not that she really cared in any way.

"Ash this was an emergency. Hello! I need to clothes if I'm gonna live in one of the greatest fashion capitals of the world!"

Sam squealed smiling at me and then looking around at all the shops that lined the streets of a little town we were in called Soho.

"You're high maintence Sam, god bless your husband."

I laughed clearly pointing our her expensive living demeanor.

"Ash, you just don't understand because you're too busy with your nose in one of those 500 page fantasy novels of yours. At least I'm living in reality."
