Arthur's POV*(Age: 12)

I woke up ready to take on the day as Sir Kay's squire since I was only of common birth and therefore could not become a knight of the realm.

I hopped out of bed and ran downstairs to ensure that Sir Kay and Sir Ector's armor was in good order.

I opened the chest and saw both of their sets of armor.

I sighed when I saw they were really muddy again.

I pulled myself together and walked over to the bucket.

I walked to the front door and then headed to the nearest well which happened to be near the small village of Vanya.

Along Ms. Reinhard said, "Good morning, Arthur.".

I waved and said, "Hi misses Reinhard. Opening the shop today?".

She said, "Afraid not. I have to babysit for my daughter today.".

I said, "Well you have a nice day and I hope the babysitting goes well.".

She said, "Bless your kindness in these difficult times, Arthur.".

I put a hand on the back of my head and said, "Aw shucks.".

She said, "You run along now. Don't wanna keep Sir Ector and Kay waiting, do you?".

I nodded and started to run to the well.

When I got there I saw some kids playing around it.

Most of them turned to me and said, "It's Arthur!!".

The others said, "Come play with us!!".

I said, "Can't. I have work to do today.".

They all whined as I got my water from the well.

I hurried back to the house and saw Sir Kay and Sir Ector training in the yard.

I sadly asked, "Aw, you started without me?".

They stopped and turned over to me.

Sir Ector asked, "What'cha doing there Arthur?".

I said, "Just got back from fetching water to clean the armor with.".

Sir Kay said, "Good lad. After you've done that could you tend to my horse as well as Ector's horse.".

I nodded and said, "Can do.".

I walked into the house with the bucket of water in my hand.

I set a towel up on the spare table and took a seat across from the armor's chest with a rag and some soap.

I started cleaning the armor while Sir Ector and Sir Kay trained in the yard.

Sir Ector's POV*

Kay said, "Arthur's really shaping up, isn't he?".

I said, "He's a good lad, and will always be that way.".

I deflected him again as Arthur walked out of the house and over to the stables to tend to our horses as well as his own.

Arthur's POV*

I entered the stables and grabbed the bucket of carrots.

I said, "Good morning." as the horses came forward for their breakfast.
