"Dear, are you almost ready to go?" A broken and fading voice asked.
"I'm getting the kids to bed. Besides, we don't have to leave for another hour and a half." Someone that sounded like Sophie responded.
Tucking two children into their beds, the woman walked out of the room and clapped, turning off the light.
She sat down at the table and rested her head on it.
"The two troublemakers up to it again?" The man from before walked towards her and draw small circles on her back with his finger.
"It's fi-." She was caught off by a cough, covering her mouth.
"Anyways, I was thinking that we make a trip to your parents this weekend and-"
The coughing continued until she couldn't contain it anymore. A hot liquid dripped from her mouth and it made her head dizzy.
Something that resembled lava dripped onto the table, burning a hole in it.
"Oh, and would you mind taking my laundry and washing it?"
However, this man obviously had no intention of helping her. A bone chilling smile was plastered on his face as he watched her continue to spit up the lava like matter.
The floor flooded, covered in it. Her head was spinning and spinning and spinning.
The woman, she decided was Sophie, was somehow bound to the chair, unable to move. The legs of it melted, and she let out a blood curdling scream as the liquid burned her skin.
Her eyes shot open and she spat out a black liquid that tasted awful. It left a burning sensation on her tongue, similar to the way the lava burned in her dreams.
"She's been rejecting the sedatives." Stina took notes. She hadn't noticed Sophie was awake.
The bonds that kept Sophie's legs together were gone and she somehow managed to stand up.
Fury swept over her as she cleared her throat. Stina turned around as Sophie aimed the full power of her inflicting at Stina.
She stumbled back, grasping her head and a table before falling over.
Sophie walked towards her, remembering a new ability she had manifested. Strange, considering she was past the age group.
Grabbing the rope around her hands, she sent ice into them, making them become so crisp and cold they snapped off.
Soon, she was completely free and she grabbed a cloth off the table, putting it around Stina's mouth.
It must have been laced with another sedative because she was soon pulled to sleep.
"Stina?" Keefe called. "Are you okay? I thought I heard something."
It took everything in Sophie to respond, "I'm fine! Just got scared because I dropped..something."
She hated herself for mimicking her, but Keefe seemed to believe it and left them alone.
The room was cold yet surprisingly bright. It didn't look like a villains headquarters.
As she walked around the room, searching for a weapon to define herself in case of emergency, something caught her eye.
Dozens of pictures of her plastered the walls, from 12 year old her to 17 year old her.
She never thought this would happen, considering they'd been friends for half a decade. Stepping towards the wall, she press her forehead on them and silently cursed Keefe.
"Having fun?" Keefe asked.
She spun around, spotting him leaning against the frame of a door.
"Where did you get these?" She demanded. Her voice was broken and crackly.
"Photographic memory. You should know, better than anyone."
"Okay, better question," Her voice no longer shook and she felt proud. "Why am I here?"
He laughed. "He took something from me, so I took something from him."
She wrapped her arms around herself. She knew that something would happen to Keefe and Fitz, but never kidnapping and jealousy.
Keefe walked closer, shaking his head at his unconscious and drugged girlfriend. "Never liked her anyway. Too desperate and snotty. Just like you sometimes."
"You know better than anyone that no two souls are the same." She spat, venom with her words.
"I know." He placed his hands on the sides of her arms. "I know..."
"Then please.. let me go."
"Your time of getting what you want is up."
"Wait!" He grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the room and down a new hall. A single door at the end, made of metal, greeted them. "Please! Keefe! Don't do this!"
She tried pulling away, but to no avail. Keefe threw her into a room and she hit her shoulder on the ground. Hard.
Grasping her shoulder, keefe slammed the door shut.
Sophie stood, running towards the door and attempting to bust it open. It wouldn't budge.
Days passed, and Sophie counted every second. She had nothing else to do. However, no responses came when she transmitted. They must have been far away. Too far.
But then, Sophie became up with a plan.
More time passed, and her plan was in action. She would break this place down. Stone. By. Stone.
Her concentration was broken by the door swinging open. She looked up and saw Stina, wearing a lab coat and her hair in a bun.
"Drink this," she pulled a green vial out of her pocket. "And we won't have any problems." Sadness seeped in the cracks of her voice.
Sophie stood, taking a deep breath before grabbing the bottle. She now saw that Keefe stood behind her.
"You know what?" Stina turned around. "I don't think she'll do it. Give me a minute." He nodded and closed the door.
"What are you-." Sophie started.
"Foster, we don't have much time. Keefe..he's holding me here too. He made me drink this same elixir. Don't cave. Fight it, but play along. He doesn't want to make you suffer, but he wants you." She spoke in whispers. Then, loudly, she said, "SOPHIE! DRINK IT ALREADY!"
Keefe swung open the door, and Sophie downed the bottle before he could act.
She felt dizzy. Stumbling backwards, she clutched her head. Stina stared at her with eyes she'd never seen.
They were telling her to fight. Fight the effects of the liquid. But..play along? She didn't even know what it was meant to do.
Sophie had a feeling she would find out soon as she slid to the floor and pretended to pass out.
