The next morning was busy. After Sophie woke up, Fitz told her that they'd be packing for their honeymoon.
But more importantly, they needed to check on Keefe. Grady and Edaline had hailed Sophie and told her he was going to wake up in about an hour or so.
They quickly got dressed with what clothes they had unpacked.
"We still need to finish unpacking and decorating the house," Sophie said to Fitz from the other side of her closet as she pulled a shirt on.
"Well the Gnomes volunteered to do that when we're gone so we don't have to be disturbed and so it'll be easier to move around." He responded.
"I guess you're right, as per usual."
She stepped out of her closet, now dressed for the day. She wore a something that looked similar to a cropped, red tank top. She paired them with a pair of black leggings and chunky black boots.
When she caught Fitz blushing, she also went red. Then sudden realization came over her.
"S-shoot..should I-I..should I change? I don't want K-Keefe to see me like this." Sophie stumbled over her words.
Fitz grabbed her hands. "You look great. And I'm sure Keefe will think you look great too. But ignore any advances he tries to make. Although I highly doubt he would, since you planted a memory in his brain that we're married."
She laughed and elbowed him gently. "You just love throwing around those words, 'since we're married.'"
She mimicked his voice, sounding just like him and making him go red as he searched for a topic change.
"You said you read about memory wiping before?" Fitz asked once he'd cleared his throat. "I've never heard anything about that."
Laughing nervously, she twirled a strand of hair around her index finger. "About that...I kinda lied to Dex. I had no idea what I was doing. As usual, I was relying on my gut and instincts."
"So you were also relying on your other abilities? Is that why you shot ice out during it?"
"Ice? Is that what happened? I remember seeing them jut out from the wall but no one explained."
"Well, you started shaking and stumbling but held on to Keefe. Then, you fell onto the floor and when we tried to get to you, you stood up and shot your arms out, which is how the ice got there."
"I froze the memories. So much so that they shattered. It felt so long yet it went by so fast."
By the time she finished her sentence, they had made it to the leap master in the backyard of their house. They went out and called for it to take them to Everglen.
He squeezed her hand as the light swept them away.
"So.." Sophie started as Fitz placed his hands on her waist and put her on the counter, hopping up next to her. "How was your dads?"
"It was fine." Keefe shrugged. "Although I don't remember much for some reason. Must have been that bored."
Sophie laughed.
Keefe continued. "How the little rascal, you newly weds?"
"He isn't a rascal. He can't even talk yet." Sophie sighed. "He was born too early. Five months. He still isn't really supposed to be out of his room. He can get hurt and sick so easy. Plus, he's so frail."
"Yeah..that really sucks man.."
"Yeah. It does." She sighed and bowed her head, her hair falling out of it's place behind her ear.
"Well maybe you two should have waited longer before going and starting a family!" Keefe yelled. Smirking, he laughed. "Honestly man."
"Well, we're happy." Fitz said, scooting closer to Sophie and hugging her. "That's all I need."
"Ew stop being gross." Keefe fake gaged. "Save it for your honeymoon."
"Oh, we will." Fitz winked at Keefe and Sophie turned red.
"I'm gonna go find Biana." Sophie said. She slid off the counter and pulled her hair around her face as she walked away.
"It is my job as your best friend AND sister-in-law to help you pack for your romantic honeymoon extravaganza!" Biana yelled and spun around.
"You seem more excited about this than me." Sophie laughed.
Biana stopped dancing. "Are you not excited? You get to spend un-interrupted time with a my brother."
"It's not that...I just.." Sophie sighed as she slid down into the floor and resting her head on the wall. "It doesn't seem right. We just got Keefe back to being Keefe. Plus, I don't want to leave William alone for a long time."
"It's only a week and a half." Biana said, squatting down and grabbing her hand. "Your parents will take good care of him. And I'll jail you with updates everyday."
Sophie sighed in response.
But Biana was determined to comfort her. "You worry too much. Everything is beginning to be perfect again. There's no Neverseen, no tension between you and Fitz's relationship, William is almost healthy again. There's nothing to worry about. You've stressed over everyone for as long as I've known you. You deserve this break. Don't make it a bad one."
Sophie pulled Biana into a hug. "Thank you. Your family is really good at pep talks."
"Well, in the wise words of my father, there's no reason to worry. So don't you worry. We have everything under control."
