Sophie stared wide eyed and the scene before her. Then, she closed her eyes, furrowed her brows and shook her head.
"Sophie! I can explain!" Fitz said, pushing Stina away and breaking the kiss.
"There's nothing to explain." Sophie said calmly, turning her attention to Stina. "Get out."
"But I-!" Stina started.
"No. I saved you when I only had to save myself. I forgave you and I trusted you. You can repay me by leaving this house."
Defeated, Stina stomped out.
"Darling I-." Fitz said, but Sophie cut him off.
"I know you're smarter than that." Sophie laughed, breaking the serious facade she was displaying.
"What?"
"You knew I was coming back. You wouldn't bring her out her and make out with her. Besides, you just don't seem like the type to have an affair."
"Huh." He said, sitting down on his bed. "You know me so well."
"Too well." She agreed, pacing over and sitting next to him. She buried her face in his shoulder. "That wasn't what you wanted...right?"
She began crying and tried to swipe away the falling tears.
"Sophie..." he grabbed her hand and wrapped her in a hug. "I would never do anything like that. Stina's been like that for as long as I have known her. I was just stupid enough to play into her trap."
When Sophie got home and walked up to her bedroom, she saw Grady and Edaline with a load of trunks.
The two of them looked extremely sad.
"You're kicking me out?" Sophie asked quietly as her eyes watered.
"NO!" Her parents yelled in unison. They ran over to her and wrapped her in a huge hug.
"We.." Edaline started, clearing the sadness out of her voice. "Alden and Della hailed us a few minutes ago. We all know the gnomes are fast workers and..."
She couldn't continue explaining and cupped her hand over her mouth, letting the tears fall.
"They said your house is ready.." Grady finished for his wife.
"What...?" Sophie asked. Tears streamed down her cheeks. "But..but we aren't even married yet! Why do I have to leave you now?!"
"We never said you had to leave. But we think it's best if you start packing up anything you won't need until you do move."
She hugged them back tightly. "I don't wanna forget you.."
"Hey, you won't forget us. You can come visit anytime you want."
"You too."
And so, they started packing. They estimated she would need two outfits for each day, the second being in case of a Sophie accident and a pair of pajamas for every two days.
She packed up what little makeup she had, because let's be real, she doesn't wear that that often.
It was around 5:45 pm when they finished.
"I'm going to go start dinner." Edaline said, standing and fixing her dress.
It was only about 20 minutes before they were called down to eat.
"So," Grady started, swallowing his food and looking at Sophie. "you're completely sure you want to marry him?"
"DAD!" Sophie groaned. "I don't think I would have said yes if I didn't want to."
"But are you sure you're ready? I mean, you've been through so much. You're going to be a mother and I want to make sure he can take care of you."
"I'm confidence Fitz will do just fine." Edaline nudged him. "Although I must agree. We don't have much experience with this sort of thing. Yes, we're married and we had a daughter, but then everything fell apart. And then, sixteen years later we got you. We don't want to lose you."
Sophie rested her hands on both of their shoulders.
"I promise, I'm sure." She reassured them. "If I ever need anything I will always come to you for help. I don't know what I'd do without you."
She stood, thanking her mother for the dinner and wishing them goodnight.
"NOT AGAIN!" Sophie screamed as her vision faded into an all too familiar scene.
Gethens ugly voice rang throughout the dark room where Sophie was laying in the floor. Her hair was scattered on the floor and she wore an emotionless expression.
Her body ached, but she was numb at the same time.
"Some Moonlark you are. You can't even fight back." Gethens raspy voice shouted. Next to him stood a slightly shorter boy, with messy blonde hair.
She knew it was Keefe, but her vision blurred and she continued to lay there. This nightmare was all too familiar. She'd had it dozens of times before.
She knew every second by heart, Keefe would soon come up, and kicked her in the stomach and she would cough up some blood. When she looked up at the boys face, she saw fury. But tears streamed down his face at the same time.
She woke up with a scream and sat up. Her stomach hurt.
"What...?" She asked through gritted teeth. The bed around her was..wet?
A pull in her stomach caused her to clench her stomach and yell out in pain.
Edaline, Grady and Sandor burst through the door.
"Sophie?!" Edaline started. "What's wro- SOPHIE!"
"You understand what's happening?" Sandor asked.
"It's happened to me too." She said, rushing over to her daughter and ordering Sandor to pick her up.
"Sophie is having this baby. Now."
