Jeongin sat awake in his room. His computer was wide open, the light illuminating his face. It was around midnight from the looks of the clock, the darkness from outside seeping inside the room and enclosing him.
"Hello?"
He heard someone say from just outside his room. The voice was familiar yet he couldn't make it out, swiveling around in his seat.
The Male knocked on Jeongin's door, "Hello, I just moved across the hall," He murmured as He leaned against the doorframe, "Could I borrow your phone charger? I forgot mine at my old apartment and the gas stations aren't open this late..."
Jeongin heaved dramatically, getting up to his feet and swinging open the door. The Male who stood just outside his door had dark brown hair and stood much taller than him, maybe even Chris, having to tilt his head up to meet his honey eyes, "Of course," He smiled politely, turning and unplugging his own from the plug-in beside his computer, "Here you go." He glimmered as He handed it over, their fingers brushing together for a brief moment.
"Thank you so much," The Male bowed, "You're an absolute lifesaver." He stood back up straight and stretched out his hand towards the boy, "I'm Hyunjin, and you are?"
"Jeongin," He responded as He took his hand in his own, shaking it, "How come you just moved in here?" He queried, "It's quite late..." As he trailed off his eyes promptly widened. When he examined the Male further, he gasped out, "Wait! Hyunjin Hwang?"
"I'm a student at the Arts School downtown, I got transferred there- and this place was well below my price range so," Hyunjin rambled, catching himself, "So yeah, I moved in here like two hours ago." A smile curled onto his lips, "That's me? Do We know each other?"
Jeongin nodded, peeking his head outside the door and down each side of the hallway, "We went to the same high school together! We both played lacrosse!"
"Ah! Sweet," Hyunjin ruffled the Boy's hair, beaming down at him, "That's great that we both are in touch again, I haven't seen anyone from school in ages!"
Jeongin had nodded again, eyeing the kitchen from down the hall, "It's quieter than usual..." He scrunched up his nose, looking back up at the Male, "Hey, do you want a snack from the kitchen? I stashed some pre-made brownies in there like yesterday if you want to have one."
Hyunjin's eyes lit up, "Sure, I'm starving," He exclaimed, "Do you mind leading the way? I've just been moving stuff into my room the whole day and haven't gotten a proper look around."
Jeongin agreed, jerking his door closed as He wandered down the hallway with a creak in his step.
Hyunjin kept close to him, stooping right over his shoulder. It gave the boy the chills as it only reminded him of Chris, feeling his breath upon his neck. He scurried further ahead of Hyunjin and towards the well-lit room, the kitchen's orange light always left on throughout the night.
"How long have you lived here for?" Hyunjin asked as He took a seat in one of the chairs around the dining table, "And have you met the other people living here yet?"
Jeongin searched through the cupboards, pulling out two brownies, "I've lived here for a around a month or two now," He tossed one towards the Male, "And yeah..." He shrugged, "Watch out for them."
Hyunjin caught it, his eyebrows furrowing, "Why?" He questioned, tearing open the seal around the brownie and taking a bite," Mr. Seo said that all of the bad people already left."
"They're all lunatics," Jeongin muttered, opening his and munching down onto it, "I'll tell you more later on but right now..."
"But right now, what?" Chris questioned as He strode into the room, causing the two males to instantly fall silent. He grinned feverishly at them, flicking his gaze back and forth between them, "What, am I not part of this conversation?" He turned to the Boy, "I thought you had a date with your girlfriend, Honey."
