It was raining, the clear droplets pouring onto Jeongin's face as He ran through the streets without diminishing.
It was unusual to think He had been down the same streets hand in hand with Chris, wishing He hadn't. He craved that He could have set back time.
He just needed to get there. He had to.
"Oh, Gosh," Soyeon wheezed, her white dress had become transparent by then, "Wait up-" Jeongin boosted her up the stairs, hastily hurrying up to the studio.
When they came in contact with the door, Jeongin seized the knob tentatively and curled it, wrenching the door open. He paused, however, and pulled out his cellphone, calling one person that He knew would be able to help; Officer Lee, as He had fished his card out of his bag.
"Hello, Officer Lee, here. How would I be of service?" Felix murmured, pausing for a few seconds, "Hello, are you there?" He breathed, "If this is a prank call, this wasn't the right time to do it. We're currently busy working on a case."
A door screeched from the inside of the studio, the two spectators overhearing it slam deliberately.
"We received a report at our patrol division today-"
"This is Jeongin Yang, I'm going into Jugyeom studio right now," Jeongin mumbled sluggishly, his grasp on his phone tightening. Raindrops saturated with sweat streamed down his forehead, wetting his clothing.
"Wait, Jeongin? You, you can't go in there, Stop!"
"My ex... Is trapped in the studio." His voice sank, Soyeon taking his free hand to keep him still, her thumb brushing circles onto the back of his hand.
"Your ex?" Felix slammed the door to his vehicle, shoving his key into the engine, "Then I'll be heading over right away."
"No, Then that'll put her in more danger," Jeongin whispered, tightening his grasp on Soyeon's hand, "What He wants is for me to come in there, she'll be safe if I go in... Please come after an hour if I don't pick up once again."
"But, You'll get hurt if you go in. Just stay right there, and I'll be right over."
"I have to head in..." Jeongin's eyes stared into the darkness the studio offered, "This will all stop if I head inside." He hung up, slipping his phone back into his pocket.
"Damnit!" Felix groaned upon hearing the dull ring of the Boy hanging up. He slammed his fist down onto his center council. He threw his phone into the passenger seat, and He gripped the stick shift, pushing it forward with a crack.
"Felix!" Kirana hollered, sprinting towards the car, "They tested Taeyong's clothing- DNA was found on it and-"
"He wouldn't just leave evidence!" Felix raised his voice, clasping the steering wheel firmly. His fingertips turned white from the excruciating pressure.
"Where are you going? Everyone is here," Kirana breathed out, glancing left to right, "You can't leave."
"Jeongin just called one of the residents at Jugyeom studio, I believe. He's heading inside," Felix hissed out, "If I don't message you after thirty minutes, call for back-up. And remember that I fucking hate my job." He slammed down on the accelerator, speeding out of the crime scene with a scuff from the gravel.
"Wait!" Kirana shrieked after him, gasping for air. How was she going to protect him from them now?
"Just follow me," Jeongin had rustled to Soyeon, walking on the tips of his toes up the staircase. He grasped the railing, letting it glide through as there wasn't enough light to tell which step their feet landed on, "Soyeon..." He breathed out, halting.
