The Nature of a Hero (FairyTail x BnHA crossover)

Chapter 19

—From here until I state the end is a description of the matches in the show. Read if you want to—

The match after Akina's was Iida against a girl from the support course, Mai Hatsume. Though it wasn't really a battle as it was a ten minute advertisement of her support gear. As Hatsume toyed around with Iida and used him as a dummy for her inventions Akina had enough time to walk around the stadium a do an in depth perimeter check. Hatsume stepped off the field at the end of it, meaning Iida was going to move onto the next round.

The fifth match was Mina against Aoyama. Personally Akina was hoping for Mina to move on. And just as she did the pinkette managed to incapacitate Aoyama. She had slid around and avoided Aoyama's lasers, melted his belt once she was close to him then hit him with an uppercut, effectively beating him.

The match after that was Momo against Tokoyami. Momo had created a Shield to defend against Dark Shadow but she failed to realize that with each hit she was getting pushed back more and more, until she was out of bounds. Tokoyami was the one to move onto the next match.

The seventh match was Kirishima against Tetsutetsu. The two of them had gone at each other with their quirks activated. Neither of them could best each other and the match ended in a draw.

The last match of the first round was Uraraka against Bakugo. Uraraka put up a tough fight, but Bakugo was ultimately the stronger one of the two. At one point some hero's started to boo Bakugo for going so tough against a girl, the hero who started it was called out by Aizawa and Akina had a hard time containing her laughter as she saw the hero who started it shrink back in shame. Uraraka had sent a shower of debris and rocks falling from the sky, which was an extremely impressive and clever move. Unfortunately Bakugo set off a giant explosion and destroyed all the debris. Ultimately Bakugo was the one to move onto the next round after Uraraka fainted.

After a short break and a tiebreaker arm weaseling match for Kirishima and Tetsutetsu (Which Kirishima won) the second round started.

The first match was Midoriya against Todoroki. Todoroki sent ice rushing towards Midoriya who broke them along with his fingers. near the end of the match there were a few words exchanged and Midoriya yelled something about how it was his power Todoroki burst into flames and Midoriya was sent flying out of the ring, meaning Todoroki would be moveing onto the next round.

The next match was Akina against Iida. The dragon slayer walked up onto the stage and looked at Iida with shining eyes. She was excited.

"Lets move right onto the next match!" Present Mic announced. "He's quick on his feet but will he be quick to win? It's Iida Tenya from the Hero Course! Versus A girl who holds the power of nature in her hand, Hayashi Akina! Who will move onto the next round! Begin!"

Everyone had expected Iida to speed towards Akina, but a silence went over the crowd when Iida didn't make a move.

"What? Is Iida okay?" Present Mic asked. "No, wait! Look there, at his feet! They're wrapped up in vines! When did that happen?"

"You not the only one who's quick, Iida!" Akina exclaimed, raising her hand in the air and letting the vines raise as well, lifting the engine boy up and causing him to let out a shout of surprise. "Wish this match could of gone on a bit longer but I'm here to win. No hard feelings right?" She reacher her hand out and the vine moved over towards the edge of the stage.

As it moved Iida struggled, trying to break free from the vine. He had activated his quirk to try to spin out of the vine's hold but to no avail.

"Iida Tenya is out of bounds! Hayashi moved onto the next round!" Midnight announced as the crowd cheered.

"Whoo!" Akina cheered, having the vine lower Iida to the ground before letting go and retreating into the ground, leaving no trace that it was there. She walked over to Iida and offered him a hand.

Iida looked at her and took her hand, allowing the red-head to help him up. "You fought well." He said.

"I wouldn't really call that a fight." Akina said, "But thanks. Let's head back to the seats, the next match needs to start soon." Iida nodded and the two of them walked off the field, chatting. "So, I'm fighting Todoroki next, huh?"

"You nervous?" Iida asked.

"Nervous? Hell no. I'm excited! He's a strong opponent! And if he uses his fire he's definitely going to be a challenge. I want to beat him, and move onto the finals!"

"You've got quite the ambition. I admire your courage." Iida said. "I believe you'll do your best."

"Do my best? That makes it sound like I'm going to loose. Have more faith in me, Iida! Sheesh!"

Iida just chuckled, and the two of them continued walking back to the waiting rooms— they were taking a detour since Iida wanted to see if his parents had tried to contact him.

"Ah, it seems like my mother has contacted me. I should call her back." He said. Please go back to the seating section without me. I'll be right behind you."

"Alright. See you soon." She said, waving and turning around. Something about Iida's tone concerned her. It wasn't a big change, but it got higher in pitch, which gave Akina a sneaking suspicion that something might be wrong.

But it wasn't her place to say anything. If Iida needed help, she trusted that he would say something.

The final few matches of the second round wrapped up quickly.

The match after her's and Iida's was Mina and Tokoyami. Tokoyami had sent out Shadow after Mina and even though the pinkette threw acid at it the shadow managed to avoid it with ease and get to Mina, where it hit her head on and send her skidding back and falling to the ground, just barely passing the boundary line. Tokoyami had won the match and would be moving onto the next round.

The last match of the round was was Bakugo against Kirishima. Kirishima had rushed at Bakugo with his quirk activated and managed to land a few blows on the blond as he easily defended against Bakugo's explosions. For a while Bakugo was placed on the defensive for a while until he started countering, this time his explosions breaking through Kirishima's defenses. In the end Bakugo won by sending off a barrage of explosions and knocking Kirishima out, letting Bakugo continue on to the next round.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, our final four!" Present Mic announced and Akina looked up at the big screen seeing her grinning face alongside the faces of those who had moved onto the Semi-finals. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

"Preparing yourself for the fight, ribbit?" Tsuyu asked. "You nervous?"

Akina opened her eyes, a look of determination on her face. "Are you kidding me? To quote a close friend of mine 'I'm all fired up!'"
