The first thing she noticed was the heat. She had been riding in the dogsled for 2 days now and she knew she was getting close because the temperature started to increase. She quickly created a miniature snow storm right above her head so she wouldn't overheat. As the dogs pulled closer she noticed a tall gate made entirely out of sandstone. Then she got close enough to see the city.
It was a beautiful city. Palm trees lined the dirt paths and green creeks weaved between houses. The houses were made of sandstone and sand dunes rose tall in the distance. It was so different from everything she'd ever seen. Her home had fragile beauty. Crystal and ice with beautiful wispy trees. But this had it's own kind of beauty. Every color looked fluorescent against the tan backdrop. It had a kind of strength. The houses were made to last the harsh conditions and it seemed to say, try and take us down, I dare you.
They were noticed the second they went anywhere near the gate. The 2 guards pointed their spears at the sled. As they started to aim the spears she waved her hand and the ground froze beneath their feet. They slipped and fell. She called for the sled to stop and the dogs froze. She stood up ready to click her watch. She pulled her hand back in and the ice melted. "I demand to speak with your king." she said marching up to them. They stood and looked her up and down. "And just who are you?" one of the guards asked. "You don't need to know that. All you need to know is I have business with your king." she said holding her chin up. "No one sees our ruler unless they have permission so unless you have permission..." he drew his sword. Before he could even fully draw his sword she had clicked her watch and pressed her sword up against his throat.
"If you make any move against me I will be forced to kill him. Do you understand?" she told the other guard, deadly calm. He nodded looking very nervous. "Now set all of your weapons on the ground. He snorted. "Now why-" she pressed her sword closer to his neck, and he stopped. "Now." she said. He laid all his weapons on the ground. "Who are you?" he asked her. She gave him a withering look. "I'm the queen of the Winter Territory and I demand to speak to your king."
