I donated fifty thousand dollars to the school and when I handed it to the principal, she passed out and got taken away in an ambulance. I felt so bad that I almost cried.
I really upset Connor when I told him he wasn't being my date to prom. It's today and I'm getting ready. I got us a great venue and awesome food and it's decorated amazingly. The guys are ready but I'm just curling my hair.
Connor is really upset with me and I don't know why.
I pull on my dress. It's a very light peach color that flows to my ankles and there is diamonds of the chest. It's got a pushup attached. I put on my white heels and look at the time. We're late.
Sighing, I grab my clutch and go downstairs.
"We're late guys."
Everyone is staring at me. I look down. "What? Oh god, I look bad. I'm going to change."
"Wow." Mike says.
"You look..." Colter trails off.
"Stunning." Connor finishes.
"Thanks." I mumble, blushing wildly. "Let's go." I start pushing them towards the door. They're all in tuxes and Connor looks really hot. We have a half hour drive there. We're already a half hour late.
We get in the white limo stretch. My phone vibrates with a text from Abby.
Abby: just a warning someone tweeted maroon 5 and falling stars was coming and now fans and paps are lining the streets. You could get mobbed.
Me: fuck. Thanks.
"Someone tweeted Maroon 5 and Falling Stars is going to be there and Abby said fans are lining the streets and the paps."
Connor scoffs.
"What?" I ask.
"You believe her."
"Connor." Mike hisses. "Stop."
I ignore him. Whatever reason he's mad at me for, we're going to have to sort it out when we aren't on our way to this thing.
Abby: paps are inside too
Me: fucking wonderful
We ride in a tense silence the whole way there. We pull up and all of us stare at the mess of people.
This is like an award show crowd.
The limo stops in front of the door and we all exchange looks.
"Let's just get this over with." I grab my clutch. The driver opens the door and I scurry out of the car and head inside, the boys walking in a straight line behind me. Connor opens the door for us. We thank him and enter the party. Maroon 5 is on the stage. Adam looks at us and waves. We wave back.
"We never discussed what song we're going to do." Mike says.
"I have a new song." Connor says.
"Which we don't know." I point out.
"I think we should do a song we haven't done before." Colter says.
"Off the album that's in progress?" Connor asks.
"No, let's just do an old song." I say. "We can't spoil the album."
"Let's do Kelsey." Mike says.
"Okay. Kelsey it is."
Connor and Mike vanish into the crowd.
"Why is Connor mad at me?" I demand.
"It's not my place." He says.
