Hotch, Reid, Prentiss, and Watson busts open the door to a building. They start to check every room to find them empty. Reid walks down the hall and opens the door to find a room
Reid: "There's a basement." he whispers to them as they come around the corner and they all go down the stairs
Emily Damn" she says seeing a pair of legs stick out from behind the washer "Damn."
Reid: "You sure it's him?"
Hotch: "Who else could it be?"
Reid: "I just want to make sure."
Watson: "Male. Approximately 6 years old. I'm sorry."
Reid: "There's something in here" he says after hearing a cooing noise and turn to see a baby crawling over to them "What's that baby doing here? JJ can't let her baby be at a crime scene."
Rossi: "Reid."
Reid: "JJ."
Rossi: "Reid." he shakes his leg a little and they all watch as he sits up from his spot ➰ Reid: "Sorry, I was dreaming."
Emily: "Yeah, no kidding."
Reid: "We found a 6-year-old boy who had been abused and stabbed. Your baby was at the crime scene. I was trying to get him out of there. Sorry."
JJ: "It's ok."
Morgan: "You know, Reid, simple dream analysis...if there's a baby in your dreams, that baby's actually you."
Reid: "I don't believe in dream analysis."
Hotch: "I don't know. It makes sense. The case we're working on and the case in your dream both involve children. Maybe your subconscious is telling you you want to sit this one out."
Reid: "I don't."
Emily: "Well, maybe you're just stressed out about going home to Las Vegas. Did you tell your mom you're coming?"
Reid: "Why aren't we reviewing the case file?"
Watson: "I don't know. Maybe because someone fell asleep on the jet." she says in a teasing way as he nods his head with a smile in a 'you got me' kind of way
Hotch: "All right, let's start from the beginning one more time."
JJ: "This is Ethan Hayes. He was 5. 2 weeks ago he was abducted out of his own front yard."
Reid: "Where were the parents?"
JJ: "His mom just ran inside to grab her purse. When she came back, he was gone. She wasn't away for more than a minute or 2. Police found his body exactly one week later in the desert. He was in a new change of clothes. His nails clipped. His hair was combed."
Rossi: "That's a lot of remorse."
Hotch: "No sign of sexual assault. The medical report suggests he was smothered. Unsub could see this death as merciful."
