thought kristoph kept on his collected and coolheaded persona, on the inside, he was freaking out a little, when it came to phoenix, he was as mysterious as ever

'What are you saying?'

'you should always consider every possibility out their, like for example, what if there was another person in the room at the time of the murder?'

payne interjected at once, though even he knew at this point, nothing he would say would be to his advantage anymore, but he was just trying to act smug

'Hah, this theory again! Your "fourth person" doesn't exist!'

phoenix glared at him, then smirked as he glanced at a certain person on the defense's bench for a second, then back towards the court

'why do you think I decided to bring this case to court,  where there's no escape, and no chance for deception, The perfect place to catch the real criminal, as long as i make sure of that!'

the judge was bewildered by all of this

'The r-real criminal?'

'if you had realized sooner, the real criminal's identity was provided for us, right at the beginning of the trial'

'Wh-Whaaaat!?'

payne cried out in shock, phoenix ignored him as he turned his head at apollo

'Apollo, perhaps you know what I'm talking about?'

apollo stuttered a bit, not sure on what he was talking about

'Um... sorry'

'The fourth person who swapped the cards made one huge ass mistake, i've told you this before'

it slowly came back into apollo's head

'He or she wasn't considering the color on the backs of the cards...'

'exactly, now, ask yourself this, how could such an obvious mistake occur? The cards used for the last game were red, there is one person, here, in this courtroom, who thought those cards were blue'

"Yeah, I had that impression, too... But why?"

'Apollo? Think you can figure out who it was?'

payne suddenly spoke up

'I-It's not me, I swear!--'

'SHUTUP PAYNE!!'

the judge quickly banged down his gavel

'Who is this fourth person!?'

"Why do I always get put on the spot like this!?"

apollo thought to himself nervously as he flipped through his notebook, ....it wasn't phoenix wright, it couldn't have been the victim, and it wasn't olga orly, ....who else was the fourth person?, ....then it slowly, slowly came to his head, ...he looked up at his mentor by the corner of his eyes, ...then back at phoenix, ...phoenix noticed his reaction, and nodded his head in approval

'well done,  your eyes are as sharp as your mind'

'i-i was right?!'

apollo stuttered out, ...he couldn't believe what was happening, ...he almost thought this was a dream, phoenix glared right into the fourth person's eyes, and said at once

'Kristoph Gavin, it was you'
