Author's Note: The warning on this shot is because this shot revolves around self harm. If that's a triggering subject to you, please don't read this shot.

Also, for everyone who says his name is spelled with an 'L' as the first letter, YOU'RE WRONG. His name is Iida, as in IIDA, not lida as in LIDA. LIDA is WRONG. The first letter in his name is and 'i'. His name is said "E-da." Alright, rant over, time for the shot.

Y/N's POV

The chill night was thick with darkness as I walked up to the place that I was staying. As I stepped into the U.A. dorms, The tears were already flowing over my cheeks. I choked back my sobs, and stumbled onto the floor of the building. I was too preoccupied to notice that only one door on this floor was open, which was Iida's. I tried to grip my handle, but the tears blurred my vision, and I just couldn't seem to get it. I sunk to my knees in front my door, just letting the sadness wash over me. I let go of a few of my sobs, letting my head come in contact with my door.
"Why...?" I asked, over and over again. "Why does it have to be this way?" I sobbed, my tears soaking my shirt.
"Y/N?" I heard a small voice cut through my sobs. I was startled, but I put my hand to my face to stifle my sobs, and looked up.
"I-Iida? I'm s-sorry, I must have woken you..." I quickly stood, trying to grab at my door handle, but tears still resided in my vision.
"No, you didn't wake me. I promise. Come on, Let's go to my room." Iida took my hands and led me to his dorm. He sat me down on his bed, and gave me a box of tissues. He took a cool damp rag and ran it over my face. He gave it to me and sat next to me.
"Do you want to talk about what happened?" I slowly nodded, my vision clearing.
"My d-dad." I whispered, my voice cracking. Iida nodded, looking into my eyes. "I've been visiting him in the hospital, as he'd been in a coma for the last three years. My dad was a relatively unknown pro hero, who go into an accident, which put him in that state." I steadied myself and continued with my story. "Today, Principal Nezu got a call from his doctor, and he contacted Aizawa, who told me to go to Nezu's office. That's why I left hero studies class today. I got to Nezu's office, and he told me that the doctor told him that my dad had passed on today-." Sobs cut off my voice, and Iida rubbed my back. "He passed on today, while I was in first hour. I couldn't be there for him in his final moments!" I covered my mouth, biting down on the fleshy part, trying to distract myself. That wasn't the first time that I'd used pain to distract myself from my dad's situation.
"Hey, don't do that. You'll tear your skin." Iida said, trying to get me to stop biting my hand. I released it, and swallowed again.
"My dad is the whole reason I wanted to become a hero in the first place. It's almost like the universe is telling me that I shouldn't be a hero, because this is what happens to heroes... I mean, look at All Might!" I cried out, right before Iida pulled me into a tight hug, pressing my face into his chest.
"Don't let that discourage you. You're a wonderful person, and I know that you'll be a great strong hero who can survive anything. You just have to push yourself. You'll get through this." I calmed my breathing, taking in his soft scent. I pulled away, and looked into his eyes.
"I...uh... Can I tell you something else, Iida?" My hands shook. He nodded. "I've been really overwhelmed with my dad and other little things, and that's made me revert back to my old habits..." I trailed off, breaking eye contact.
"What habits?" I bit my lower lip, tears welling again. "What habits, Y/N?" Iida asked, his voice more stern this time.
"I've been... cutting up my arm..." Iida didn't say anything for a good thirty seconds, but I couldn't bring myself to look at him.
"Show me." I gulped, pulling back my sleeve, to show scabs and scars decorating my soft forearm. Some were old and some were new, but they all came together to look disgusting. Iida's hand was also shaking as he took my forearm in his hand, and ran his gentle fingers over my wounds. I jumped a bit from the sudden spark of pain, which caused Iida to stop. He looked up at me with teary eyes.
"I feel like such a failure... I'm so sorry that I didn't notice what was going on with you, Y/N... i'm so sorry that I didn't help you, and I'm so sorry that I couldn't protect you..." Iida's voice reverberated in my ear, hitting my brain. He pulled me close, holding my head.
"I-Iida, no! This is my fault! Don't take responsibility!" I exclaimed, pulling away from the crying boy.
"It's also my fault. I'm so sorry, Y/N." We laid in his bed, hugging each other close. Iida was careful not to touch my wounds, to avoid causing me any more pain.
"Now that I know about this, I can't just continue to sit by... You know that, right?" Iida asked, running his hands through my hair.
"I know..." I tucked my head into his chest. "I just don't want to get expelled for it." Iida kissed my lips. "I'll make sure you don't. I'll be with you, every step of the way. I promise." I hugged him.
"Thank you, Tenya." He smiled.
"You're welcome."
