Chapter 23 – Reading: Hanging Around

Chapter Text

One week later (1 year, 9 months and 1 week after leaving Tartarus)

"A lot can happen with that amount of time," Athena said and frowned as the kids wiggled around, Percy was playing on a mortal mobile phone and frowning.

"I know we kill monsters and all, but this game has me hooked!" Percy said and grinned as Kronos kissed him on the lips, he gasped and ignored as the others made gross noises. Percy didn't care, he had done worse when the other Titans were around, they wolf whistled and Percy blushed a gold colour as the Titan wrapped his arms around Percy's waist,

Ares growled lowly and smirked, a plan was forming and now he just needed the right time to act. It was wicked and he knew it would be worth it.

The sound of metal striking metal echoed around the arena, closely followed by Annabeth pointing out the mistakes of the campers as they practiced. "Keep your defences tight!" She shouted. "One lazy movement and you'll be decapitated!"

"I don't think that's going to help their morale," Jason noted as he watched the grim-faced demigods that were training in the arena. "We need something that'll keep it up. Even Capture the Flag isn't doing that anymore. Everyone keeps thinking that the Titans will attack at any moment."

"They could," Annabeth muttered.

"That was what I was thinking," Annabeth muttered and looked away as she saw Percy and Kronos whispering to each other, it was supposed to be them, not them. She scowled and a plan formed in her head, she didn't notice the god of war smirking in self satisfaction.

"There's been absolutely nothing from them," Thalia said as she shook her head. "The last thing was when Kronos destroyed Williamsburg Bridge last week."

"Then when they somehow came through the Camp Barriers?" Jason asked. "And took Percy."

"Someone let them in, the question is who?" Zeus said and looked to Hermes with a glare, he never did forgive his son's, son's mistakes, Letting the Second Titan War start.

"Don't jump to conclusions," Atlas said with a sneer to the king of the gods, "It might be just that we are powerfuller than you are."

"Why you!" Ares began only to be cut off as Luke read louder and ignoring the glares sent his way, as the two immortals had been itching to fight.

Thalia sighed. "We're not going to win this, are we?"

"It's possible," Annabeth said. "Definitely possible. Percy already set up basically everything for the training. I just have to continue it." She frowned at a pair of demigods who were arguing. "Though nerves are running high."

"They're going to be," Thalia murmured.

"I've heard the gods are going to try to call in some old favours," Jason added. "With a Primordial or two."

"Really? Which ones?" Thalia asked.

Jason shrugged. "Aither, Hemera and Elpis are the three I heard about."

"And the Titans will have the support of Gaea and likely Akhlys, Erebus, and Nyx," Annabeth sighed.

"I'm sure Kronos will have Nyx's complete support," Jason smiled slightly. "Even in the bedroom... if it goes there, of course."

"Jason, please don't talk about that," Thalia scowled. "Just the thought makes me feel queasy."

"I'm surprised, it must be the mortal part of your mind, because sex is just a natural part of life, after all, 354000 babies are born a day," Aphrodite said and flipped her hair over her shoulder and grinned. "I may be pretty, but I do know these things, it falls under love after all." She smiled and many of them shuffled uncomfortably, she used charm like it was going out of style.
