Allen

James stood behind me, his arms wrapped around me and his head on my shoulder. I felt my face heat up as a smile tugged at my lips.

"Am I doing this right?" I was rolling balls of ground beef in seasoning on a cookie sheet.

"You're doing great, Allen." He kissed my cheek. "When you're done you can put it in the oven."

"Well, I think I'm done." James pulled away.

"Okay. You wash your hands and I'll put it in the oven."

I walked to the sink and scrubbed my hands as I watched James open the oven and slide the tray in. Once I washed my hands, I walked up to James.

"Okay. You see where it says 'oven bake'?" I nodded. He pressed the button. "You press this and then press 'start' and then you're done!"

"What about the pasta?"

"That cooks really fast so we should wait for the meatballs to cook a little bit first."

I shrugged. "Makes sense." I wrapped my arms around him before placing a quick kiss on his lips.

"Are you sure you're okay with dating me?"

I raised a brow. "Of course I am. I love you and I love that you're my boyfriend."

He gave a small smile.

I placed my hands on each side of his face. "James. What's going on in that beautiful head of yours?"

He let out a small chuckle. "Can't remember."

"James. Tell me what's wrong. Communication is very important when it comes to relationships."

He sighed. "It's just hard to believe that you... like me. For so long, I tried to hide my feelings because I thought you'd never feel the same way."

"I love you James. I fell for you as soon as we met. Never doubt my feelings for you."

"And you're okay with our relationship being a secret?"

"Of course I am! I don't care if our relationship is a secret. I'm just happy that you're my boyfriend."

He smiled as I pressed my lips gently against his. We kissed again, this kiss deeper than the first. He placed his hands over mine as we continued to deepen our kiss before pulling away, breathless.

"What was that?" I spoke softly, my lips barely touching his.

"I don't know." He smiled before placing one last kiss on my lips.

"Are you okay now?"

"I'm okay." He rested his head on my chest. I wrapped my arms around him and smiled wide. Feeling his body against mine always made me smile; it made me feel safe.
With his body next to mine, I felt like there was a bubble around us and as long as we were together, no harm would come to us. I felt like I could be myself with him. I felt relaxed when with him. It always felt like time froze when I was with him.

James took my hand and sat on the couch before pulling me onto his lap. He held my hands and our fingers intertwined.

"Considering we've only been dating for, like, two days I am digging being your boyfriend."

James laughed. "You're pretty good at it."

"Hell yeah I am!"

We both laughed. "We should check the food."

I slid off his lap and followed him into the kitchen. He slipped on an oven mit and grabbed a fork. I watched carefully as he opened the oven and began to stab the meatballs, occasionally splitting them in half.
