Mike's pov

"Hey, you reached Jim. I'm probably doing something incredible right now, and I can't--" the audio message played before Joyce put the phone down. "How long has she been missing? y/n?" Mrs. Byers asked. "Halloween. She disappeared in the middle of the night," I sigh. Mrs. Byers nods, opening the door to Will's room and letting me in.

"It's like... It's like I feel what the shadow monster's feeling. See what he's seeing," Will explains. "Like in the Upside Down?" I ask. "Some of him is there. But some of him is here, too," Will quivers. "Here, like, in this house?" I question. "In this house and... in me. It's like... it's like he's reaching into Hawkins more and more. And the more he spreads, the more connected to him I feel." Will cried. "And the more you see these now-memories," I add. "At first, I just felt it in the back of my head. I didn't even really know it was there. It's like when you have a dream and you can't remember it unless you think really hard. It was like that. But now it's like... Now I remember. I remember all the time," He shook. "Maybe... Maybe that's good," I suggest. "Good?" Will croaked. "Just think about it, Will. You're like a spy now. A superspy. Spying on the shadow monster. If you know what he's seeing and feeling... maybe that's how we can stop him. Maybe all of this is happening for a reason," I explain. "You really think so?" he asked. "Yeah. Yeah, I really do," I reassure him. Will looked in the corner of the room at a drawing of the shadow monster. "What if he figures out we're spying on him? What if he spies back?" Will asked. "He won't," I exclaim. "How do you know?" Will shook. "We won't let him," I breathe, grabbing his hand.

Will sprung up, gasping. "Will, what's wrong?" I ask. Will and I walked to Mrs. Byers, who was sitting on the floor. "I saw him," Will blurt. "You saw who, baby?" she breathed. "Hopper. I think he's in trouble. I think he's going to die.

I woke up, walking into the kitchen. "Hopper? El?" I call out but get no response. "Hello?" I ask again. I walk around the house, looking in every room even though there aren't that many. Still no sign of El or Hopper. I saw a phone in the kitchen and decided to call Joyce. The phone rung for a bit. And then, someone answered.

Mike's pov

We walked around Will's house, trying to find Hopper, I found the spot. "Here!" I exclaim. the phone rang. "Mike, will you get that for me?" Joyce groaned. I ran to the phone and picked it up. "Hello?" someone quivered. "Hi, who is this?" I ask. They were breaking up, and I could barely hear what they were saying. "Hello?" I ask again. "Help! Please! Everyone's gone. I don't know where I am!" A female voice that I recognized all too well cried. "Y/n?" I murmur. Then, the line went dead. I ran to Joyce, her boyfriend Bob was here too. "Who was it?" she asked. "y/n," I blurt. Bob pulled Joyce into a different room. I turned to Will. "Will?" I ask. "Yeah?" he replies. "It was y/n. On the phone. She's in danger, too. What if--what if all of this is connected?" I ask, pointing to the drawings. "It probably is," he admits. Will and I were sitting at the table when Bob comes out of the room, naming spots on the wall.

Joyce, Will, Bob, and I run to the car so we can get Hopper and find y/n.

Dustin's pov

As I pulled up to Mike's house in hopes of talking to Mike and Lucas, I run to the door, ringing the doorbell several times. "Your line has been busy for over two hours, Mr. Wheeler. Do you realize this?" I pant. "Oh, I do realize," he replies. "Is Mike home?" I ask. "No," he sighs. "No? Well, where the hell is he?" I ask. "Karen, where's our son? Will's," He replies. "No one's picking up there. Nancy. What about Nancy?" I sigh. "Karen, where's Nancy?" he calls. "Ally's. Our children don't live here anymore, not with y/n gone. You didn't know that?" he replies. "Seriously?" I quiz. "Am I done here?" he asks. "Son of a bitch. You're really no help at all, you know that?" I reply, turning around. "Hey! Language," he yells. As I pick up my bike, a car pulls up.

"Steve. Are those for Mr. or Mrs. Wheeler?" I call out. "No," he replies. "Good," I exclaim, grabbing the bouquet. "Hey. What the hell? Hey!" he shouts. "Nancy isn't home. And neither is y/n," I breathe. "Where is she?" he asks. "Doesn't matter. We have bigger problems than your love life. And my problem might be y/n's problem, too," I pant. "Do you still have that bat?" I ask. "Bat? What bat?" He quizzes. "The one with the nails?" I add. "Why?" he asks. "I'll explain it on the way," I retort.

"There's nothing. There's nothing here," I exclaim. "Are... Are we close?" Joyce asks. "We're in the vicinity," Bob explains. "What's that mean, the vicinity?" Joyce pants. "It means we're close. I mean, I don't know. It's not precise." Bob replies. "But we did all that work," Joyce breaths. "I told you, the scale ratio is not exactly one-to-one. We needed to take--" Bob begins. "Turn right." Will blurt. "What?" Joyce asked. "I saw him," Will explained. "Where?" Joyce quizzed. "Not here. In my now-memories," Will added. "In your what?" Bob asked. "Turn right!" Will shouted. Joyce swerves the car, we hit a sign, grass flew on the window so we couldn't see. We almost hit Hopper's car, but we stopped just in time. "Are you okay?" Joyce panted. "Superspy," I blurt. "What's Jim doing here? Joyce?" Bob asked. "Boys, I need you to stay here," Joyce gasped. "No. Mom, Mom, Mom, it's not safe," Will explained. "That's why I need you to stay here! Stay here!" Joyce repeated. Bob and Joyce got out of the car. Not too long after, Will and I got out of the vehicle. "Do you see anything? I mean, in your now-memories?" I ask. Will shook his head no.

A bunch of vans from the lab pulls up. Out of nowhere, Will fell to the ground, groaning in pain. "Will? Will, are you okay?" I shout. "Will, what's wrong?" I ask. Will continued to scream. And then, he began to shake.
