(there will be a lot of pov changes happening this chapter!!!!)
Max and I hopped off the bus as we arrived at the mall. "So, what do you think?" Max asked. "I've been to the mall before," I laugh. "I know but have you ever really gotten to experience it without Mike telling you where to go and what to do," Mike mocks Mike. "He doesn't do that," I defend. "Seriously, that's all he does," She teases. "So, what should we do first?" Max asks as we get inside. "Go to the movies?" I suggest. "You've never been anywhere other than the movie theatre, have you?" She chuckles. I shake my head, no. "Well, then I guess we're just gonna have to try everything. Ooh. Come on," Max exclaims, leading me into the Gap.
Mike's pov
"I just... I don't understand what we're looking for," I blurt. "Something pretty and shiny that says 'I'm sorry,'" Lucas explains. "What, just something that literally says 'I'm sorry'?" I ask. "No!" Lucas groans.

I look through the store, trying to find something I like. "Do you like that?" Max asks. "I don't know if it's me. How do I know if it's me?" I ask. "You just try things on. Until you find something that feels like you." Max explains. "Yeah, but how will I know?" I quiz. "Well, if it doesn't feel like Steve. Not El. Not Mike. You," She continues. I smile.
I jump in front of the mirror, smiling at the funky outfit I had on. Max handed me a yellow beret that matched the pants. I pull the suspenders, making them snap. We laugh.
Mike's pov
"Excuse me, sir," I call out to the worker at the jewelry store. "Mm-hmm?" he asked. "How much for this little teddy bear right here?" I question. He opens his mouth before looking at me and giving me the price. "Three hundred? Three hundred," Lucas announced as we walked out of the store. "I should've shoved that little teddy bear right up his--"
Your pov
I hopped out in a different outfit, Max held out two different belts for me to try. I picked the yellow one. I spun around before getting dizzy and falling into Max.
Mike's pov
We walked in front of a store, pausing after we saw the women shopping for underwear and bras. My jaw dropped, and Lucas looked around, confused. We slowly backed away before beginning to run.

I finally found the outfit (at top. yes, I did use it in my other book). I flipped my hair before doing a bunch of random poses. I turned to Max as we both laughed. We bought the clothes before I changed into the outfit. We walked out of the store, bags in hand. Max looped her arm through mine as we skipped throughout the mall.
Mike's pov
We were now at a perfume stand, smelling various perfumes. "Hey, Mike," Lucas tapped me. I turned to face him as he sprayed the perfume in my face. "Oh. Uh! Ahh!" I groan as it got in my eyes.

Max and I ran to a photo studio. "That's it, girls! Okay, here we go. Wardrobe change, please! Wardrobe change! Thank you!" He cheered as we went to switch outfits. We did different poses. "Shake it. Shake it out for me." He exclaimed. Next, we went to a shoe store. I tried on heels. Max held me up, but I ended up falling anyways. The popular girls in the store gave us strange looks, but we laughed it off. We went to the cafe and watched as the popular girl from the shoe store got in a fight with her friend, her friend ended up throwing a smoothie on her. Max and I laughed as we ran away. "See? What'd I tell you? There's more to life than stupid boys," Max laughed.
Mike's pov
Will, Lucas, and I sat on a bench, hopeless. "Can we please play D&D now?" Will asked, "No," Lucas and I reply together.

As our last stop, Max and I decided to visit Steve and get some ice cream. Steve turned around from talking with his coworker. "Okay, here you go, you got a strawberry, and then vanilla with sprinkles, extra whipped cream," Steve exclaimed, handing us our ice cream. "Thanks," Max and I reply in sync. "Wait a second. You aren't with Mike?" Steve asked. Max and I look to each other and laugh before we runoff. Max and I walk out of the front doors. About to go wait for the bus. "You wanna trade?" Max asks. We switch ice cream cones, smiling as we do so. Max slows down, "Oh, you've gotta be shitting me," She blurts. I look to where she's looking and see Mike with Will and Lucas. Max and I approach them. "Isn't this a nice surprise," Max blurts. "What're you guys doing here?" Mike asks, rubbing the back of his neck as he let his bike fall over. "Shopping," I reply. "This is her new style. What do you think?" Max asks passive-aggressively. "Wha--um. It uh--It looks different," Mike stammers. "Oh, so you don't like it because you didn't choose it?" Max asks. "Yeah. You don't like it, Mike?" I repeat. "I never said that. In fact, I think it looks great. You--you look great," Mike defends. "Then why do you treat me like garbage?" I hiss. "What?" Mike asks. "Don't play all innocent, Michael! I saw you!" I snap. "She...I--It was a misunderstanding!" Mike groans, hitting Lucas. "Totally a misunderstanding. That's why we're here, actually. " Lucas adds. "Yeah, we're shopping. Not for us, but for y/n, for you," Mike continues. "For you!" Lucas repeats. "Just, we couldn't find anything that suited you and I only have, like, $3.50, so it's hard," Mike explains. "Super hard. It's--it's expensive," Lucas adds. "You're lying. Why are you lying?" I ask as Mike looks up at me. He opens his mouth to say something but doesn't say anything. Max and I hear the bus brakes squeal. I look at the bus then back at Mike, stepping closer to him. "I dump your ass," I declare. Max's jaw dropped as we turn away, walking to the bus.
We get on the bus, sitting down. I look to Max, laughing as she gives me a high five. "I almost slammed my ice cream on him, y' know," I admit. "You should've," Max giggled.
Mike's pov
We watched as the bus drove off. "Now can we play D&D?" Will asked. "No," Lucas replied. I stayed silent, my eyes remaining on the bus.
