Zay -

"What!" Pretty much all of them said in unison "how?" Smackle asked. "Well you see I went to the agency where Mr Lopez told me about the fact our watches can detect moods and shit so while I was there I went to the Library to find out a bit about the Life Chamber Maya was put into" I start, them all nodding eager for me to continue

"Back in like whenever, Maya and I had a mission to go and collect the Lightland gem from the NYLLS agency. And when I was reading about the chamber it said one of the main parts of the chamber to get it to work is the lightland gem. So when i went to the chamber to check the parts and as you could've guessed, the gem wasn't in there. That explains why the chamber didn't work" I say

"So how does that mean Mayas alive?" Farkle asked confused "because when he was talking about the watches that detect our feelings, I asked him to print off Lucas' chart and at 1:30am last night his regular mood and blood pressure spiked and the emotion love jumped over 50%. Meaning that when Maya visited Lucas his vitals went up. And then they dropped slowly over time in the middle of the night as if She was fading away. So signifying she had left, without Lucas knowing" I reply

"So she really was in my house last night?" Lucas asked a small smile on his face, the first I'd seen in months "yes and chances are, she was real when you saw her too Riley" I say, directing the attention to her.

"However. The lightland gem wasn't in the machine when they put Maya in and something like this has never happened before so she is either A) floating around in some kind of space, trapped between worlds or B) dead. But if she was dead how would she keep coming back to talk to us" I debate with them

"Sooo you just need to get the gem? To see if once you put it in the machine, Maya will reappear" Smackle asked "if it works then yes, that's what I'm planning for. However, back when we were doing the mission the gem was in transit. And this was back when Mr Strayer run the place. The file still says in transit to this day so we don't know where in the world it is" I finish slowly

"So what now?" Riley asked, I turned to Lucas unsure of what to do next, we met eyes and he quickly looked away as if he was thinking "Okay..Okay so when Maya visited me in the car, it was just after she was killed. When she visited Riley, it was at the funeral and when she visited me again it was last night.." Lucas mumbled as if he was trying to work something out

"Rude. How come you got two visits" Riley sneered at him "Hey at least you got visited at all" Farkle justified against his girlfriend making Smackle and I laugh a small laugh "everyone think of Maya. Think of everything sad you can about her. Think of her death how she isn't here just make yourself upset" Lucas finally piped up

We all furrowed our eyebrows "why?" Smackle questioned from beside me. "Because Maya can only visit us in our most vulnerable times" Lucas replied. We all sat quietly for a minute or two thinking about memories of maya.

I thought about our Missions, our time spent together being badass and kicking Lucas' ass by being better spy's then him. And I thought about how much has changed since she was gone.

I looked around my friends, we were all visibly upset. We looked around each other with no sign of Maya. That was until like a glitch, she appeared on the couch in front of us.

Lucas -

Maya looked around us quickly. She was faded as in you could see through her like a hologram. She smiled at me sweetly, my heart instantly melting and a red fire on my cheeks

"I'm dying..for real" she said barely above a whisper "what-what do you mean?" Riley asked, wiping a tear. "I only have 3 days left before my afterlife is over. That's why I'm going see through, I'm dying" she replied

"We figured out what went wrong, do you know where the gem is?" Zay asked her. Maya shook her head "No..not entirely. I have an idea but I may be wrong" she replied "well we can give it a try..we'll do anything" I reply. She looks at me again, in instant relaxation in her body happens.

"Your gonna have to check with the agency to find out but I know that josh was seen at the airport the day the gem went into transit. we were sent to steal it back from them Zay, so if you didn't want someone stealing something again, you'd hide it in a new place right?" Maya replied

"New place as in new country? That's why josh was at the airport?" Smackle asked. Maya shrugged her shoulders and gave a small I don't know. "You'd have to go now though. Like I say, I have 3 days left before my 5 month period is up" she added.

We all got up and said a small goodbye to her, to go to the agency. As we were going through the door, a small sigh came from behind me. I turned back around to see her still sitting at the same couch with her head in her hands "Can I touch you?" I ask quietly.

She looks up to me confused "as in will my hand go through you?" I rephrase, her mouth curved into a small smile and she shakes her head no. I sat down next to her and gave her a kiss on the forehead ever so gently "I'll bring you back home" I say reassuring her

A small tear leaks from her eye "LUCAS!" Riley called from outside the cafe door. Maya and I both laugh at her impatience and I get up, jogging out to meet the group.

When we get to the agency we go straight to coding so that they can hack the cameras and the systems. "We need you to find the surveillance footage to find Joshua Matthews in January 8th please" I ask. He nods and types a way at the computer finding frames across New York of where Josh was seen or picked up by cameras

"Mr Matthews can be seen leaving the NYDLS and heading over to this headquarters where he stayed for about half an hour" the coding agent said, flipping around a screen where we can all see Josh head to the agency.

"Where does he go after that?" Zay asked politely "from there Mr Matthews can later be seen at an airport" the agent said again, showing us the footage "look he has the same bag in every shot" Smackle pointed out

"So how are we supposed to figure out where from the airport he went?" Riley asked me quietly "ahhh is there anyway you can look at the expenditures from January" I question the agent. He turns back to the screen and types away again before pulling up a spreadsheet of what the company spent

He pulled up a plane ticket for Joshua Matthews to Paris the same day he took the gem from NYDLS "so he took it to Paris" Farkle questioned "i-I don't know if it's helpful or not..but since that ticket was bought, $150 USD has been going to a place in Paris called Paris in a box?" The agent replied to Farkle

I pulled out my phone googling what Paris in a box is "it's another storage unit" I tell them. We thank the agent and pile into Mr Lopez's office "wow why so many? What I done eh?" He asked, his Mexican accent dripping off his words.

"We need you to book a jet to Paris that leaves in like an hour" Zay informs him. Mr Lopez leans back in his seat "do I even want to know why?" He questioned "to find Maya Hart sir" Farkle replied "ahh you know what I'm gonna do it anyway" Mr Lopez stated

He took all our names and booked the jet to leave in 55 minutes from now "you aren't going to have time to go home and pack. Go to wardrobe and they will supply your clothes then go straight to the jet" Mr Lopez advised as we got up from his office

We thank him and head to wardrobe where they created a small bag for us each to take before getting in the car to take us to Paris.
