                                        CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

“Come on Holly! You’re going to make us all late!” Danielle yells from my front door.

“I’m coming, I’m coming!” I shout back and slip on my shoes, dashing out the front door after collecting my bag.

“So I hear you’re going to Manchester University,” Eleanor nudges me in the side gently and grins.

A smile twitches at my lips as I nod my head happily.

“See you in September,” Her grin growing wider.

We climb into Danielle’s car, already Eleanor pulling out a small bottle of vodka for us each to take a swig of, all apart from Danielle who is on strict rules from Liam of no drinking.

After a short journey, we arrive outside of Harry and Mia’s flat, all of us getting out of the car at once, giggling and stumbling over one another’s feet. Mia opens the front door at the sound of Danielle closing all the car doors.

“Hey Mia!” Eleanor shouts to her and we all wave.

Mia shuts the front door of the flat, walking down the small pathway and greeting us all with hugs. From their flat we’re going to make the short walk into town to TGI Friday’s where we will then be meeting with a few of Mia’s friends from work, possibly even from school.

                                                               *

“We just keep dancing like we’re twenty two-o,” Every one of us sing along at the top of our voices with drinks in our hands and stumbling around the tiny bar, Mia and Perrie up on the chairs dancing with one another until they’re demanded to get down.

     “Twenty two-o!

“What time is it?” I yell over to Eleanor who pulls out her phone at the exact same moment.

“Ten to twelve!” She tells me, the music cutting off in the bar.

“Sorry ladies, it’s time to go home. We’re shut for the night,” The bartender announces, turning the lights off one by one.

Without putting up a fight to stay just a little longer, we collect all our belongings and leave the bar, entering into the silence of the night. Me, Eleanor and Danielle all walking behind the rest of the group whilst Perrie and Mia stroll far ahead, arm in arm.

“You know what we never got round to doing like planned?” Danielle chirps up.

“What?” Me and Eleanor ask in union, looking at her.

“The funfair,” She sighs and shakes her head. “I was looking forward to that.”
