Chapter 13 : I Got Criticisms

Yeoju's POV

Our song promotion was coming to an end. Actually we promote our songs for three to four weeks. Now we can take a short break before our comeback.

One day me, Yuna and Jiwon unnie were sitting in the living room. The fancams of our performance were uploaded in the YouTube channels of the music shows we went. We all were reading the comments of our fancams.

"One of it says - I really like the way you dance. I love you Yuna. Aww they are so supportive."

"Mine says - You're so beautiful. Marry me plz." Jiwon unnie said and laughed.

"Why don't you marry that person unnie?" Yuna said, smirking.

"I'm already married to Twinkle," Jiwon unnie said to which we both gave her a disgusted face. I shook my head and sighed.

"Anyways what about you, Yeoju unnie?" Yuna asked.

"Yeah show us," Jiwon unnie came and sat beside me. I showed her the comments on my phone. Yuna also looked at the comments.

As Jiwon unnie was scrolling through the comments, a comment caught my attention.

It said - Yeoju is a lazy dancer. She isn't even in sync with the other members.

People also replied to the comment -
Yeah I also noticed that. She's a bad dancer.
If she doesn't know how to dance then why did she debut?
She isn't even using her energy when she dances.

I was taken aback by the comments. I was hurt. I felt like crying.

Jiwon unnie noticed me and said, "Ahh... these people... Just ignore those comments. They are just some anti- fans."

Yuna took my phone and kept it on the table. "Just ignore them unnie. We have Twinkle to support us right? Twinkle knows how hard you work. So don't be sad. Cheer up!"

I nodded and gave them a fake smile assuring that I'll be okay but from inside I don't think I'll be fine after that.

Yena's POV

Some days passed. Our promotion finally ended. We all were resting in our dorm. But Yeoju seemed to be too quite these days. She doesn't talk that much. She doesn't even eat well. I got worried.

"Yeoju-yah, is something wrong? Are you sick?" I asked, sitting beside her on the couch.

"...I'm okay," she simply said. But I didn't think she was okay.

The next day I was just going through some news in my phone when I saw an article that included Yeoju in it. The headline was - 'Kim Yeoju of Sparkle gets criticisms on being a lazy dancer.'

I was shocked on reading that. "She might have seen this that's why she is like that nowadays." I went to Eunbin unnie and showed her the article.

"She must be hurt after that," Eunbin unnie told and sighed.

Yeoju saw that I was showing something to Eunbin unnie so she came to us and asked about what I was showing to unnie. I hesitated to show her the article but somehow she managed to snatch the phone from my hand.

She said nothing after reading that. She simply kept the phone back on the table and walked out of the room. I followed her.

"Yeoju... Yeoju-yah..." She didn't listen to me. I catched her up and made her look at me.

"Yeoju just ignore–" I was cut off by her.

"Yena... I know you would sympathize me. But I want to be alone for now. So plz leave me alone for some time." Then she walked away from me.

"Yeoju..." I tried to stop her again but she went in her room and locked the door from inside.

"What do I do? I hope she feels better afterwards." I sighed.

I discussed the matter with the other members. I also called Mina unnie to help us.

"I think Yeoju might get into depression," I said.

"Unnie don't tell that," Naeun said.

"Yeoju thinks a lot. I know her since childhood. She even got depressed when she got fired by her manager when she used to work part-time at a cafe. She didn't even talk to me for days after that." I sighed and covered my face with my hands.

"Don't worry. She'll be okay after some days. I'll talk to PD-nim about it. She just needs some private time," Mina unnie assured us.

But still my heart didn't want to accept that she would be fine after some days. As her best friend I was still worried about her.

The other day, Yeoju was still like that. Not eating much, not talking much. She just gave us a smile when we tried to comfort her but I knew that the smile was a fake one.

She didn't come to do the VLive with us so we decided the remaining seven members would do it. She also needs some time to come out from it.

In the live, fans kept asking about where Yeoju was and all. We just told the fans that she was a bit sick.

Then a comment caught my attention - Is it because of the criticism that Yeoju is not showing up? Is she okay? I'm worried about her.

After some chatting we ended the broadcast. I showed the comment to the others. "Should we tell the fans about it? They can help us right?!"

"I'll talk to Mina unnie," Eunbin unnie said.

I was really feeling bad for Yeoju. How can I see my friend like this? I sighed.

We talked with Mina unnie and she said that she had discussed about it with PD-nim. The Entertainment will post a short notice about Yeoju going on a hiatus because of her health reasons.

Fans also became worried about Yeoju's health. They kept sending supportive messages.

I also told the whole matter to San. He also became worried about her.

"What?! She has been like this for days?!... Just watch over her. She might do some things that she is not supposed to. I'll call her afterwards," San said, panicking.

"Where are you going?" I asked Yeoju as she was wearing her shoes.

"Just going out to get some fresh air." She opened the door.

"Should I come with you?"

"Sorry Yena. I still want to be alone." She went out closed the door. I sighed.

I hope she gets better soon.
