Chapter 2 : D-Day!

Yeoju's POV

"Kim Yeoju." My name was called as I took a step forward. It was the final elimination round. I was so nervous that my hands and legs were trembling.

"From you three trainees, only one is going to debut," the anchor said.

I kept having goosebumps but then I heard my name.

"The last one to debut in the new girl group is...trainee Kim Yeoju."

There was a huge round of applause for me. The other two trainees came to me and congratulated me. I just covered my mouth and stood there, not able to believe what was happening. I was so happy that I started crying.

I'm finally going to debut...

"Yeoju! Yah Kim Yeoju! Wake up!" I heard someone say. And when I opened my eyes, I realized that it was just a dream and Mom was waking me up. I groaned and closed my eyes once again.

"Do you want to miss your audition? Get up quickly," mom said as I looked at the wall clock, rubbing my eyes.

My eyes widened. "Oh no! I'm going to be late." It was just one hour before the reporting time for the audition. I quickly jumped out of the bed, took my towel and ran into the bathroom.

I changed into my skinny black jeans and a blue shirt which I tucked in my jeans. I straightened my hair and left it open. Then I finally did my makeup. It took me half an hour to get all ready.

I quickly ate the breakfast which mom made, took my bag and headed out.

I didn't know the direction so I took a cab to go there. I showed the address which I had written in a piece of paper to the cab driver.

It took me some minutes to reach there. I looked at my phone to see the time. "Okay, I'm not late." I sighed.

I went inside the huge building, 'KQ Entertainment' written in bold letters on it. I wasn't able to get the room where the audition was to be held. So I decided to ask a staff about it. He told me the direction. Then I somehow found the room. I opened the door after taking a deep breath.

When I entered the room I saw that all the participants were already there, sitting on the chairs. It was a huge room. There were so many of them that I already felt nervous only on seeing them.

Then I spotted Yena waving at me. I made my way to Yena by bowing to some of the girls. I took a seat beside Yena and sighed. Thank God that the audition was delayed by fifteen minutes.

"How can you be late on this day?" Yena said as I sat beside her.

"I woke up late," I replied, smiling sheepishly.

"Aishh this girl!" Yena chuckled.

Then we all turned our attention to the anchor. "We are glad that so many participants came here for the audition. The participants would perform one by one as the no. given to them. Now we welcome the judges for this audition."

Then a lady walks inside the room, accompanied by two men. All our eyes were focused on them as we stood up and clapped.

"Hello participants. I'm Kim Soojung. I'll be your choreographer. Nice to meet you all," she said and bowed. We also did the same. She was so beautiful that I kept on looking at her.

"Hello. I'm Lee Donghyun. I'll be your vocal trainer," one of the men said. We all bowed to him. He was handsome and tall. Then I looked at Yena. She kept on staring at him. I chuckled.

"Hello. I'm Choi Jinhyuk. I'll be your rap trainer." We also bowed to him. He seemed pretty strict from his appearance.

The judges took their seats and the anchor announced to start the audition. I got no. 29. So I had some time to get used to the surroundings. And Yena's was 28. We're happy that our turns were close to each other's.

The first participant went and stood in the front of the judges and us. The judges faced their backs to us. So that we could also see the participants perform from the front. I guess you understand what I mean.

"What's your name?" asked one of the judges.

"I'm Seo Eunbin," she answered.

"Ok. Let's see what you have prepared."

The music was played as she started her performance. She was good at both singing and dancing. She was literally good at performing.

How would I able to compete with such good participants? I'm so nervous...

Now it was Yena's turn to go. I mouthed 'Hwaiting!' to her before she went. She walked to the front with full confidence. After the formalities were done, she started her performance.

As I've said before she's a very good performer. She did very well. And I'm sure that she would get accepted. She came back and sat beside me.

"You did great! You'll surely get accepted," I said and gave her an assuring smile.

"Khumawo~" She smiled back.

Then it was my turn, finally. Yena patted my back and mouthed 'Hwaiting!' to me. I nervously walked to the front. My heart rate had increased by this time. I bowed to them and they asked me my name.

"I'm Kim Yeoju."

"Okay let's see what you've prepared."

"I can do it!" I mumbled to myself as the music started playing.

After finishing my performance I looked at the judges, waiting for the comments while the other participants clapped for me.

"You're pretty good at singing. But I felt that your dancing needs to be improved," Ms. Kim said.

"Thank you." I bowed and walked back to my seat.

"You did well!" Yena said as I sat on my chair looking down, pouting. I sighed.

Like this all the performances were over. All of them were really good.

They must have practiced more than me. That's why they are so good. I sighed.

The judges went out of the room to discuss about the selected parti- cipants. After waiting for half an hour. The results finally came. The judges came and sat in their respective places. The anchor announced the names one by one.

"Will I get selected?", "What if I don't?"
These type of things were going on in my mind.

"Seo Eunbin." She walked to the front as all the other participants clapped for her including me.

"Then Choi Yena." I clapped for her and told 'Congrats!' to her before she walked to the front.

There were total 25 participants who would get selected among us in this audition. It was told earlier. I was so nervous as there was only one place left now.

The 24 participants were already selected and it was just only one left now. I closed my eyes and crossed my fingers.

Then I heard a name. Other participants clapped for the said person. I was in total shock.
