Yeoju's POV

"Yah wake up! Yah Kim Yeoju!" I heard Yena voice.

"I don't want to wake up today. Let me just sleep today." I buried myself under the blanket.

"No you can't sleep anymore." She pulled the blanket away from me.

"Yah wake up! We have our vocal training now. Do you want to get scolded on your first day?" Chaerin said.

I didn't want to get up but that was the routine after all. I quickly took a shower, wore the uniform and got ready.

Our rooms were in the fourth floor and our practice rooms were in the second floor. So we used the lifts to go there.

Chaerin and Yujin unnie had already left. Yena waited for me because I woke up late. Again.

"Yah~ hurry up. We'll be late," Yena said.

"I'm done." I headed out of the room with Yena. We went into the lift.

The door went open. I was looking at Yena and chatting when I bumped into someone.

"Oh, I'm sorry." I quickly apologized without seeing who it was.

"Yeoju?" I heard a familiar voice. I looked up and realized that I bumped into Seonghwa oppa. Yunho was also with him.

"Ah sunbaenim..." We both bowed to them. I blushed and they just chuckled.

"Your training has started?" Yunho sunbae asked.

"Yes, it started yesterday," I answered.

"We'll see you around then." I nodded.

As me and Yena were about to go, Seonghwa sunbae said, "Look to the front and walk."

I felt embarrassed and smiled sheepishly. We both bowed to them again and went to our practice room.

I'm so stupid...

"You all have to learn the lyrics. This is the lyrics of the song to which you'll be performing and the choreography would be the one you learnt yesterday. Okay?" Mr. Lee announced.

"Yes."

The vocal training wasn't that difficult for me as I was good at it. I picked up the lyrics and the tune quickly.

All are not perfect at everything, right? We were told to sing some parts of the song alone. And Mr. Lee would see if we're doing it correctly or not.

We sang one by one. When my turn came, I was confident enough that I would do well. And so I did. Mr. Lee appreciated me that I had a nice voice. I was so happy that there was something that I could do perfectly.

"Okay I've listened to all of you. Some of you were off beat. Some of you were really good. So you need to practice the whole song. The ones who I told that they were off beat should practice it more. Got it?" Mr. Lee concluded.

"Yes."

We bowed to him and he left the room. Now we had to practice it by ourselves.

"Yeoju-ah," Yena called me. "This part is difficult. I'm not able to do it. I'm a rapper and they're turning me into a vocalist. How will I do that?" I chuckled.

"Ah, don't worry. I'll teach you." I start to teach her.

"Okay I got it. Thanks Yeoju~" She hugged me.

"Okay, okay. Don't do aegyo in front of me again. It's cringy." I chuckled, looking at her cute expression.

When we were finished with learning the tune and almost all the lyrics of the song, we thought to practice the choreography with singing.

We struggled a bit in the first but we improved eventually. The most important thing for a kpop idol is to remain stable while dancing and singing. We had to sing and dance at the same time.

Of course you breathe heavily while dancing, and singing at the same time with stability in you voice is very important. I think that is the most difficult part of being a kpop idol.

I have practiced singing and dancing together before so I know how to control my breathing while singing. But there are some choreographies in which we need more energy and this was one of that type.

All we had to do is practice, practice and practice more. When we took a break I sat on the floor with all the other girls.

"It's difficult," Yerin unnie said and we all nodded in acceptance.

In the break Mia cracked some jokes and we all laughed our lungs out. Her jokes were so funny. We chatted about where we came from and how did we dreamed of becoming an idol.

In that short time we all got close and it felt like we were a family. All the girls were so good that I felt as if I was at my home. All the girls felt like my family members.

I was happy that all of us came from different places and became such good friends in such a short period of time. I was a little sad because in the end, only 8 of us would survive through this and finally get to debut. This part is very heartbreaking for me. Who knows if we would meet again or not.

But life has to go on. If we want something, we have to loose something in return.

The show must go on. You must go on.

We practiced it for some more days. Now it was the time of the trainers to judge our performance.

***

The next day, we all wore our new outfits and got ready for the performance. All the trainees gathered in the practice room and waited for the judges.

All the three judges came and took their respective seats. We bowed to them.

"So you guys ready?" Ms. Kim asked.

"Yes," we said in unison and quickly stood in our positions.

The music was played. We all did as we had practiced. We all had improved which was clearly shown by our performance.

The judges discussed something among themselves. And then Mr. Choi finally spoke. "Okay... We all have looked through your performance. Now we'll announce the names who all have passed this level."

All the trainees became nervous. My hands were literally shaking at that time. This was the first elimination for us.

"So the trainees who passed this level are..."

My heartbeat increased and I just prayed that I don't get eliminated this early.

To be continued...
