Lisa closed her eyes, picturing the image of Jennie in her arms once again. Jennie was her life and her sanctuary. She was her everything.

Lisa reminisced the times they were together. Jennie was the puzzle piece that completed her, but unfortunately she wasn't the puzzle piece that completed Jennie.

Seeing the love of her life marry another person that wasn't her, broke her. She felt a stab in her heart as she looked at Jennie's eyes that was full of love, but that love was not for her- it only used to be.

She stood up and clapped as the wedding ended. She couldn't believe Jennie got married to the one person that she considered her best friend. Her other friends looked at her in sympathy, as the tears were brimming in her eyes.

8 years later....

Jennie opened the box full of letters that she received 8 years ago when she and Jisoo got married. She read every letter, but somehow something felt wrong as if there was a certain person she wanted to receive a letter from.

"Hey uhm, Jendeuk, Lisa sent a letter to you" Jisoo said and Jennie hesitated for a second, but seeing the look in Jisoo's eyes. She needed to read the letter.

It's been 8 years since she saw the Thai, and the last time she did, Lisa didn't look at her with love. She looked at her with pain and sadness.

"Je t'aime mon amour"

Those were the last words Lisa said. If she could only take Lisa in her arms, she would, but her father wanted her to marry someone else and she was too scared to try and fight for whatever they had.

Jennie's eyes brimmed with tears as she stared at the letter on the table. Jisoo decided to leave her alone, knowing the past that Lisa and her shared with each other.

Her hands were shaking and her breath hitched as she looked at the familiar handwriting that stared back at her.

She slowly opened the letter as tears started to fall from her eyes.

Dear Jennie,

I'm so sorry I left so early at your wedding, you were so beautiful, yet it hurt me to know that it wasn't me that stood infront of you at the altar. It hurt me that I saw love in your eyes and they twinkled for someone that wasn't me. I imagined that I was the one you were going to marry as you walked slowly, but as you got to the end I wanted to run to you and wrap you in my arms because now I regret on ever letting you go.

I want to thank for those years that it was me who you loved, and I promise you, I felt it. I thought I was going to share my life with you, but our love story took place in the wrong time. We simply weren't for each other. We met, but we weren't meant.

You were the love of my life but I simply wasn't yours. I hope she takes care of you and makes you happy. I hope you grow up together and have children that you can tell your stories to. Those were our plans, but those plans were to be fulfilled without me. I hope she realizes how lucky she is because I should've been her. My only dream was you, but I guess I had to keep on dreaming because being with you was just impossible.

I want to say sorry for not fighting for us, but looking at you in the eyes and seeing that you already let go, I already knew that there was nothing to fight for.

If you are reading this, then this is a letter to tell you that I have already gone. I'm so sorry I never told you that I was sick. I dreamed of spending my last moments with you, but destiny had other plans, and I didn't want you to get hurt as well.

Please dont cry when you see this, because it's the one thing I hate the most. I want to see you live your life to the fullest even without me. I want you to be successful in anything you do, and I promise to watch over you.

Our love story was sweet, but sadly it was a bitter ending.

You will always be my greatest love Jennie Kim.

Je t'aime mon amour

Yours forever,
Lisa
