How I met your mother

I was sitting alone on a old night at a bench just reading my favorite book. It was the winter time in New York and it was chilly to be outside at night. I didn't care enough though. The coldness was bearable as long as I could see the moon.

It always gave me a warm feeling.

My bangs was swaying as I felt a colder breeze fly past behind me. That's when I realized that someone had ran just a foot behind me. She was behind the tree where the bench was at and her shoulders were bobbing up and down.

I furrowed my brows in confusion. Was she crying?

I slowly stood up and made my way to her. The sound of the snow probably startled her and caused her to fall forward to me. Luckily I caught her and she was stunned with our proximity. For a moment I was dazed too.

"Are you okay?" I asked her. I could see tear stains on her cheeks that came from her feline eyes. They were gorgeous, more like captivating. It was enough to make me want to get to know her.

"Y-yes" She stuttered a bit. I helped her get to the bench I was previously sitting at and made her sit down. She quietly followed me and sat down shyly next to me.

Again, I was confused at the way she acted.

"Are you sure you're fine. You look a bit nervous and pale. Do you want me to take you to a hospital?" I asked her once again hoping to her a longer answer.

"I'm fine really" She confirmed as I nodded my head. Then I realized I still hadn't introduced myself yet.

"By the way my name is-"

"Lisa Manoban" She cut me off as I choked back my saliva from shock.

"You..know me" I raised a brow as I looked back down at the book I was reading. "Not a lot of people do" I added. She chuckled lightly. It was cute and small. She sounded like a child.

"Are you kidding? Everyone in campus knows you. Lisa Manoban, drummer of the University Band, straight A student, dancer. The person who wouldn't know you would probably be the weirdest person ever" She said to me. I narrowed my eyes at her not knowing what was going on inside her mind.

But I wasn't weirded out. I was even flattered that she thought of me that way.

As I stared at her, I started to remember where she probably met me.

Class.

"You're...Jennie Kim" I said as I smiled. Her eyes widens, probably not expecting that I would know who she was. Jennie Kim. The girl that caught my attention because she was so mysterious. I knew she was pretty from afar but up close she was even more stunning.

Her brown eyes could still be seen even with just the moon illuminating it.

"Well that's surprising that you know me" She managed to chuckle out.

I laughed with her.

"Why does it sound so surprising?" I asked her.

"Well because you're famous. You could have the girls that you want or guys. You could talk to anyone and they would be happy. I mean it's just weird that you know my name because I know you would never be friends with a girl like-"

"I'd rather be friends with you than hang out with fake friends" I caught her off guard with what I said. The expression on her face says so.

I didn't want to assume but I swear that I saw tint of red on her cheeks.

"Really?"

"Yes Jennie. You're mysterious and I like that about you. I think we could be friends" I sadi to her. She smiles differently this time. Now, her smile reaches her eyes, but that's when I heard a man's voice from far away calling her name.

I could here the footsteps on the snow as she stands up and tried to leave but I pull her back. I hid her behind me and get ready for whoever was approaching. Jennie trembles as she stays behind my back.

"Who is that?" I asked her silently, waiting for the silhouette to appear.

"Hanbin"

As if on cue, he appears from the dark and there I was standing in between them. Hanbin was from the basketball team. Let's just say he didn't have the best reputation when it came to girls.

"Hey there Manoban, I see you're with my girl" He says with a creepy smile. I push Jennie back as I step back as well.

"Get away. What did you do to her?" I asked him calmly, but with the way he's acting I knew there was alcohol in his body at the moment.

Proudly, he stated what he did.

"I touched her" He smiles "In parts where she wants to be touched"

I grit my teeth in anger.

"That's not true! I didn't want it!" Jennie shouted, tears pooling out of her eyes.

"Shut up and let her come here" Hanbin smirked and tried to charge at us. I turned to Jennie.

"There's one thing people don't know about me.." I stated.

I looked back at Hanbin, grabbed his arm and twisted it and turned him around. I punched his face and pushed him to the ground. I took his other hand and placed it behind his back as I stepped on his face. He groaned in pain. Jennie's eyes widen at what I did.

I grabbed the zipties I keep with me incase something like this happens. It was for self defense. I tied the zipties and his arms was now permanently on his back as I let him go.

He couldn't get up because he had no access to his hands.

I turned back to Jennie and continued my sentence.

"Is that I'm a taekwondo black belter" I winked at her.

I looked down at my child as she smiled and teased her mom. Jennie rolls her eyes at how cliché it was. Of course I left out the harassment part. My daughter was too young for that.

"And that is how me and your mom met. It's Nini and Lili's story" I smiled proudly and placed a kiss on my wife and daughter's forehead.
