the shipmaster sat in his command throne messages being sent to him through his connection to the ship at a rapid pace.
Shipmaster: status of the deployment.
helmsman: kerkrader regiments are fully deployed and have surrounded enemy-controlled areas, the Emperor's Eyes have spread themselves among them and the Astral gears are in the local lordships making sure troops are amassed, all elements of the Elysian drop troopers are standing by for an emergency response.
sensor officer: two warp signatures detected!
shipmaster: identity
sensor officer: imperial endeavour class named holy fire and a black ship named his silence, sir. both are heavily damaged and moving towards us.
shipmaster: hail them! i want a visual feed as soon as possible.
communication officer: hailing.
after a few moments in front of the shipmaster came the holographic image of two shipmasters.
Shipmaster: this is shipmaster Bismarck under service of his holy inquisition, identify.
after a few seconds, one of the shipmasters responded a man of a thin build his face seemed young for a shipmaster even though the holographic gave a green tint to everything one could see that he had short cut blond hair and blue eyes.
shipmaster2: this is shipmaster Kreuger of the holy fire.
the other shipmaster a woman with long flowing black hair and sharp features spoke up next.
shipmaster3: this is shipmaster Cathrine of the his silence.
shipmaster Bismarck: what happened to your ships?
shipmaster Kreuger: we had to make an emergency warp jump to escape combat.
shipmaster Bismarck: you were fighting what to be exact?
shipmaster Cathrine: forces of the arch-enemy, sir.
shipmaster Bismarck: any ground forces onboard?
shipmaster Kreuger: a quarter of a Gallian regiment.
shipmaster Cathrine: 200 sisters of silence and 400 Gallians.
sensor officer: sir multiple warp signatures inbound. none match as imperial.
Shipmaster Bismarck: you two need to get your ships to link up with ours. communications order all combat able vessels to engage the enemy! sensors numbers!
sensor officer: we have 30 combat vessels mostly light cruisers with escorts. the enemy numbers 70 vessels two battleships classification 20 light cruiser classification and 48 escorts classification enemy is also deploying fighters.
Shipmaster Bismarck: then it is an even fight. designate the battleships target alpha 1 to 2, the cruisers beta 1 to 20 and the escorts delta 1 to 48. have our forces form a wedge formation and deploy fighters. how long till we are in maximum firing range for the frontal lance on Alpha 1.
weapons officer: 1 hour till we are in range, sir.
in the cold void, one could see two fleets approaching one another with two damaged ships in between them. the imperial ships were lined in a wedge-like formation while the enemy ships came in a cluttered mess each ship wanting to be the first in the fight. when the imperials entered firing range they unleashed a volley of bright energy lances most hitting the void shields of the enemy or even destroying some of the escorts completely. the imperial ships stopped moving and unleached as many shots as they could to attack the enemy fleet. when the enemy was in the firing range of the wounded imperial ships did the imperial navy move in when both fleets met it turned into chaos. enemy vessels performed ramming and boarding actions on the imperials, fighters on both sides were slaughtering each other. the imperial vessels held strong taking out many enemy ships before needing to retreat. target alpha 1 rammed the holy retribution before it sent boarding parties to it.
inside the retributions armoury, one could see the ships defence troopers and Elysian drop troops gearing up to mount the ship's defence among them was inquisitor Shepherd and her retinue. her retinue consisted of six people her acolyte, Lac and four Xenos. the Inquisitor was waring carapace armour and wielded a laspistol with a powersword, her acolyte was also waring carapace armour and wielded a hotshot lasgun with a bolt pistol as secondary, Lac wore his uniform and wielded a lasgun with a kerkrader shield. one of the Xenos an avian-like Xeno wielded a shotgun, a reptile-like Xeno wielded a sub-machine gun, an amphibian Xeno wielded a laspistol and a robotic Xeno wielded a sniper rifle.
an alarm went through the ship as it shook and a servitor announced.
Servitor: decks 22 through 24 breached in sectors 19 to 29. intruders in deck 22 sector 18.
immediately most troops that were finished arming themselves headed out of the armoury to defend the ship. the inquisitor and her retinue followed as well. they were in one of the many corridors when they engaged the enemy. one a human with three arms had a missile launcher and was preparing to fire.
Lac: a mutant with a missile launcher 1 o'clock!
the robotic Xeno instantly locked on the mutants head and fired killing the mutant, but the launcher still went off hitting the roof of the corridor and killing more enemies.
robotic Xeno: threat neutralised
as they went through the ship securing it and cleansing the enemy they suddenly heard another alarm the one mostly used for warp transitions as the shipmaster came in.
shipmaster bismarck: all hands prepare for warp translation. i repeat, prepare for warp translation
on the command deck of the holy retribution was panic as the sensor officers tried to check every reading they received.
shipmaster Bismarck: sensors report!
sensor officer: sir target alpha 1 is neutralised but they are self-destructing their warp drive to take us with them.
shipmaster Bismarck: escape of the blast zone?
sensor officer: negative sir. even if we could go at max speed we will be hit.
shipmaster Bismarck: i want all power to void shields and gellarfields now!
in the cold void, a battle was ragging as one of the enemy battleships suddenly exploded tearing a large purplish hole through reality, the hole started to expand swallowing ships hole as it expanded. some tried to flee only for tentacle-like protrusions to sweep them in. in total eight ships were swallowed hole and ten more damaged or even ripped apart before the hole, in reality, was repaired.
