(Unedited)
The day after the party didn't go well.
When mom found out we snuck away and got drunk she got angry. She got angry because we left her alone in that awful place. She also got angry because I had school the next day and I was going to be hungover.
She was right about that.
I came to school with a massive headache. So did Athena, Vanessa and Nico. Leo got to stay home because college doesn't start for him until later.
Elijah watched us is amusement as we stumbled and complained.
"Wipe that grin off your face mister, we're suffering here," Athena says glaring at him. All three of us were slumped in our chairs, not caring to even eat our lunch. "I swear to god Mr. Raymond was never this annoying. It's either my hungover or he's purposely making me suffer," Nico says. I groan, "can you guys be quiet my head hurts."
The rest of the day past like that. The three of us falling sleep between classes and Elijah finding humour in it all.
The last class of the day that I shared with Elijah finally came and I wanted to jump with joy. IN an hour, I would be home and in my sweet bed. But, of course, I had to jinx myself.
While walking with Elijah to our last class, I bumped into someone and spilled all my books.
"Ugh, watch where you're going!" the person I bumped into yells. "Me?! you should watch where you're going!" I yell back at the person. Lame comeback, I know. I look up and find a girl staring down at me with a disgusted look on her face.
She looks familiar.
"You're the one who bumped into me!" she scoffs. I roll my eyes, "I'm not having this conversation," I say and bed down to pick up my stuff. I look up to Elijah from my squatting position, "aren't you going to help me?" he shakes his head, "Nope."
I groan and begin to stack my books and papers. Once I'm standing back up I look over to see Elijah and the girl staring at each other. I mean, full-on staring, with no emotions. The worst part is I'm in the middle. Creeped out, I grab Elijah's hand and drag him with me to our class before we get late.
I slam my books down on the desk and collapsed into my chair. Elijah takes a seat beside me. The teacher was running a little late so I decided to make a conversation with Elijah. Which was a struggle because he has no emotions.
Like, I swear he's bipolar. One second he's smiling and making a joke and the next he's all serious and stuff.
"So, did you know that girl in the hall?" I ask him looking over to my side. "Yeah, she's Emma Terry." my eyes widen. "The girl from last night?" he nods his head. Oh.
"why were you staring at her like that?" I ask. He looks at me and smirks, "why, jealous?" a blush makes it's way to my cheeks. Why do I blush at the dumbest stuff?
I'm not jealous . . . am I?
"What? of course not, I was just asking." he hums and looks back at the front. "Sure you were," he murmurs.
Just then, the teacher walks in and our lesson starts.

When I get home I throw my bag onto the sofa, not realizing Leo was there. "Ow! why'd you throw your bag at me?" "Oops," I say and he rolls his eyes.
"How was school?" he asks me, following me as I make my way to the kitchen. "It was okay, all of us were hungover so it wasn't that fun," I say making some coffee. Leo nods his head and stares at me as I make my coffee. I look up from the coffee machine and raise a brow, "what?"
"I need to tell you something," he says biting his lower lip. my eyes widen and I lean in closer, "what is it?" he looks at me and then back at the coffee. "Come to my room after you're done making your coffee," he says and then dashes upstairs to where I'm guessing was his room.
I stare at his defending figure before looking back at my coffee. What could he possibly be up to this time?
Once the coffee was finally done, I cautiously walked upstairs to Leo's room, careful of my surroundings just in case this was another one of his pranks.
One time he covered my bedroom floor in mouse traps and when I woke up the day ended me with a bruised foot and detention. I got him back the next day by telling his - at the time - girlfriend he cheated on her. I didn't like her anyway.
I knock on Leo's door before hearing a faint "come in" from the other side. I enter the room and spot Leo sitting on his bed in a crisscross position. He motions me to come closer and then pats the bed, "take a seat, dear sister."
I hold my cup of coffee close to me and take a seat opposite of him on the bed. "So...what is it?"
He lets out a loud sigh and then closes his eyes.
"I like Athena. As in like-like her."
He opens his eyes up again to see my reaction. I was smirking. "Wh-what, why are you smirking?" he questions.
"Oh brother, I already knew. in fact, everybody knows. Except for you and Athena of course." His mouth is agape and he has a confused look on his face. "What's that supposed to mean?" I set my cup down on the table beside him and shake my head, "it doesn't matter now. What matters is if you're going to tell her."
Leo shrugs his shoulders and looks down. "I don't know if I should. Would she feel the same? What if I ruin our friendship? How would I tell her? So many questions yet not enough answers." I put my hands on Leo's shoulder, "that's why I'm here buddy." he looks up at me with a nervous look.
I get up from his bed and walk back and forth from his door to dresser. "First, you should ask her out on a date. Not boldly, but smoothly." Leo throws his hand up in frustration, "you make no sense!" I point my finger t him "shut up. I know what to do." I walk back over to him and pat his back, "don't worry brother I have te perfect plan. You just sit back and relax."
I turn around and head out the door leaving a confused Leo behind be. "You forgot your coffee!" he yells from his room but I have no time to go back and get it.
I have a plan to brew.
