Jennie's pov

"Athena, if you're ready, do you want to tell us what happened?" I ask, leaning into the chair.

We were all either standing or sitting around Athena's bed. After the while situation sunk into our minds, the only question we had was, what happened?

Athena groans and lightly shakes her head, "I can bearly remember anything. Everything is so blurry."

I squeeze her hands in mine, "it's okay, don't force yourself too much. Think about it after you feel a bit better."

She smiles and nods her head.

"Um, can we talk, alone, for a second?" Leo asks the rest of us.

We nod our heads and get up to leave the room.

Leo and Athena need their alone time.

Once we step outside, everyone lets out a big sigh.

"God, I wonder what she went through. She's so innocent and guessing by her reaction. She went through something, " Vanessa says, leaning against a wall.

"Yeah," Nico replies, running a hand through his hair.

It's nice to see a group of friends so close and caring for each other.

I may not be that close to them, but I know for a fact that they aren't the type of people to keep their friends lying in a ditch.

My old group of friends were a bunch of fakes. Kind of happy I got out of that relationship.

"Guys, she'll be okay, we all know Athena is a strong girl," Elijah pats Nicos back.

Behind Nico, I see a pair of cops talking to Athena's parents. Soon, they start to make their way towards us.

"Guys," I say, nodding my head towards the cops.

"Are you Athena's friends?" they ask, stopping in front of us.

"Yeah, what do you need officers?" Vanessa asks, her arms crossed over her chest.

"Were you guys near the crime scene when it happened?"

"Nope," we reply altogether.

"Was Athena acting weird before today?"

We take a while to think about it but end up saying no.

"Do you know anybody who might have been targeting Athena?"

Once again, we look at each other for a while but then shake our heads, "no."

"Wait, wait, wait-" Nico stops everyone.

"Are you saying that Athena was attacked? She didn't slip and hurt herself or anything?"

The two officers look at each other before looking back at us, "we'd
rather keep that information private."

"But-" Nico tries to argue, but Elijah pulls him back.

The officers leave, and the four of us gather up.

I take a quick peek inside the hospital room and see the two couple making out.

Oh. Ok.

"Guys, is this something we should be worried about?" Vanessa asks in a low voice.

Nico shrugs his shoulders, not knowing what to say.

"I mean, to the extent of going to the hospital...if whoever did this is still on loose than we have a problem," Vanessa says, stressful running a hand through her hair.
