5 days until Harry's birthday.
Holly's POV.
I was all ready for Harry's birthday, I was a little anxious that he wouldn't understand but I knew him better.
We were talking but not how I wanted, the Skype calls were short, he'd say the minimum. The texts were getting later including either one 'x' or none at all. Maybe I was looking too much into it, or maybe I wasn't.
I couldn't help but feel when he skyped me that night that he was pulling away from us, pushing me away.
"How was the day?" I tried to smile.
"Okay, yours?" I could hear background noise, and see lights flashing in his face. He was watching tv.
"Busy, I'm really enjoying it though, Carla seems really impressed with me too."
"Good, that's good."
We were silent for a moment or two, Harry's attention not on the screen.
"Am I interrupting?.."
He looked down. "No?.."
"Well you're just watching tv and ignoring me, shall I just end the call now?"
"Woah Hol. Calm down."
I sigh. "You're frustrating me again."
"I can't watch tv?"
"Not if you're skyping, it's rude."
"Sorry, mum."
"Really? You're being that immature?" I scoff.
"Holly you're overreacting again. Mountain out of a molehill."
"Ha. Okay. I've planned something for your birthday which is in five days and you're treating me like this."
"Like what?"
"Like shit!" I exclaimed.
"You're the one blowing up because I watched tv for two seconds."
"Okay," I sigh not able to fight with him anymore. I was sick of this constant back and fourth. Being happy one day, then falling apart the next.
How much can one person take?
"I'll leave you watch tv. I'm up early tomorrow."
"Yeah.."
"Bye," I end the Skype call shuffling deep into my pillows, Harly curling behind me on Harry's side. The empty feeling consuming me more than ever. Is this how it's going to be? Is this our relationship?
I felt my phone vibrate beneath my pillow.
Harry: You didn't say I love you.
Me: Neither did you.
Harry: Ok.
I sigh rubbing my hands over my face, I could end this constant battle and say I love you, but I knew that he wanted more than that. We were both too stubborn to give in to the other.
But being stubborn isn't healthy for either of us, and it only made me worry about how many times we could argue about the same thing before we both got sick of it.
How did we end up here? How do I break this cycle? I can't tell him to never leave the country, it just seems that every time he does, we fall apart.

The following day I sat at my desk in a daze, my article almost complete but I just couldn't get around to finding the right words for the final paragraph.
"Hi Holly," Charlie smiled leaning against my desk.
I'd gotten to know her quite well, I'd spend my lunch with her talking about girl type things, she never spoke about Harry, only if I brought him up which was nice, I wasn't sure at first if she was nice to me for me or for who I was dating.
"You okay Charl?"
"I'm great, me and a couple other girls are going out tonight, fancy coming? Just a few bars and clubs, nothing big." She shrugs tucking some hair behind her ear.
"Sure, I'll meet you there at 9?"
She nods telling me which clubs to meet her and her friends at before returning to her desk so the both of us could work.
At around 8pm I'd just about finished getting ready, I was waiting on my bed to see if Harry would come online on Skype before I left but the longer I stared at his icon the more annoyed I was getting. He hadn't contacted me since yesterday, not even a morning text this morning which hurt.
Me: Hi, was waiting for you on Skype but you must be busy. Going out tonight with girls from work, hope you've had a good day. x
I was hoping that the text would install a bit of hope into our relationship but the second i saw the delivered sign change to read but no sign of him texting back, I knew he was more annoyed with me than he was letting on.
I sighed throwing my phone in my clutch, I tried and failed.
All I can do now is have a damn well good night out.
Charlie's friends Sierra and Rosie were super nice, neither of them acknowledged who my boyfriend was, but they knew who he was.
Once in the club, I walked to the bar with Sierra, we ordered drinks whilst the other two headed over to find a table.
"Okay, let's do the shots first." Rosie clapped excitedly.
Each one of us took hold of a shot before holding our noses and shotting them back, each one of us coughing and wincing at the burn of the pure expensive vodka.
"Jesus!" Charlie shouted. "That could wake the dead!" All four of us laughed, downing three more shots of the horrific stuff before we called it quits - they were much too strong for my little body.
When we were sat down drinking and laughing I couldn't help but feel eyes on me. I didn't know where from, or who from I just felt cold. The alcohol i'd consumed wasn't enough to make me incoherent, I still knew what was going on around me but I just couldn't shake the feeling of being watched.
Standing up, I announced I needed a toilet break, Charlie standing up with me and saying she also needed the toilet - she was a little more worse for wear than me.
Heading through the club, our hands linked tight we pushed through towards the back to the toilet.
Accidentally I knocked into someone, my instant reaction to say sorry. The man was dressed all in back, his eyes hard to see as he had his hood up. He leaned down, his mouth against my ear. "You should watch where your going, sweetheart."
His words for some reason made my entire body flush cold, my brain sobering up instantly. I'd never heard his voice before yet, it terrified me. I was frozen in the spot unable to move.
"Come on you vagina, what are you doing?!" Charlie scolded me, she was still drunk.
Trying to look for the stranger I realised it was much too late, he'd disappeared completely within the crowd of the club. As I was dragged to the toilet by Charlie, my body limp, I couldn't help but feel like that was the man who was watching me.
