Today, the family is having a little get together. Everyone will be here. Well, everyone except Bri. We haven't seen or heard from her since that day she left. It sucks for the kids because they don't deserve two absentee parents. TJ, he lost his dad before he was even born. We don't know who Jasmine's father is and Khalia's dad was on drugs with Bri.
TJ is 16 now. He knows just about everything about his dad. We've made sure that he has a relationship Tyler's parents. Jasmine is 14 and she is exactly like Brianna was at that age. The way she carries herself. Her attitude. Everything. She is her mother's daughter. Khalia is 11. She reminds me a little bit of Bri but not as much as Jasmine does.

I think it's time for me to go home. I got clean. It's been 2 years now that I've been off the drugs. I didn't want to go back home at that time because I was scared. They probably don't want anything to do with me. I up and left my kids. I always vowed that I would never leave them and I did. I know they hate me for leaving them and that's okay.
In these two years that I've been sober, I went to community college and got an associate's degree in business management. I've been trying hard to make sure I stay on the right path.
Khalia's father finally got clean a couple of years ago as well. We have talked and he's gone to therapy. A part of both of our programs including making amends with those we have hurt. That's one of the final steps. He came to me and we both sat down and talked about everything. We both apologized for the things that happened between us. He was abusive to me but we have moved on from that. I am no longer in a relationship with him but he wants to be a part of his daughter's life and I want that for them. She deserves her dad. And so does Jasmine. He broke up with me because of the lack of communication and he saw the path I was going down. He wanted no parts of it. I found out I was pregnant a couple of months after that. I never told him about her but I recently reached out to him. He deserves to know her.
I got in contact with Yasir a few days ago and he said they were having a family get together today. He's going to be picking me up soon.
I worked and made enough money to get an apartment in a better part of town. I got up this morning and showered before doing the rest of my morning hygiene and then doing my hair. Once I was done with all of that, I got dressed for the day.

When I was ready, I made sure I had everything and then I checked my phone. Yasir said he was pulling up outside so I left out. I made sure my door was locked and then I went out to the car.
He was standing outside his car waiting for me. When he saw me, he came and hugged me.
