Chapter 1- The Beautiful Girl

She looked out the window and sighed. How she wished for an adventure!

She had lived in this house all her life and she was bored,bored, bored.Her small attic room, which had once being her favourite place, now looked dull and dreary. She looked out the window at the view that she had once thought spellbinding, but over the years she had looked at it so often that now even this was boring.She sighed. How she would love to have some more sparkle in her life!

She picked up a pencil and absentmindedly wrote her name: Siluetta Girling. Her flowing cursive was as perfect as could be.She stared at it. So perfect, so dull. Just like everything else in her life. 

Siluetta was tall for her age at sixteen and she was so mesmerisingly beautiful that everyone stared at her. Her long,brown ringlets were always silky and smooth and her blue eyes sparkled like the sun on the sea.She was kind, too, as kind and loving as could be. But her heart of gold was about to break from loneliness and boredom. A breeze blew into the room and Siluetta sighed once more.How she wished she could be out there, running wild and free forever like the fresh spring breeze.

"Siluetta! You can come down now!" her mother was calling her.

"Coming!" she called and ran down the stairs.

Her sister Lalina, two years older than her, had had a suitor over for lunch. Because Siluetta was far more beautiful than Lalina, everyone who saw her fell for her instead. But Siluetta wasn't old enough to marry, and Lalina was expected to marry soon, so every time Lalina had a suitor over, Siluetta had to stay in her room until the suitor had left.

Now the suitor had left, and Siluetta was being called to have her lunch.She would have liked to stay in her room longer, but she was hungry.She hadn't anything since breakfast. Siluetta quickly ate her lunch and rushed back to her room as soon as she was finished. How good it was to be full now! But it didn't make life any more interesting! She lie back on her bed and stared at the ceiling.She sighed. How she wished something interesting could happened to her! In fact, she wanted more than just something interesting! She wished something magical would happen to her.
