Siluetta slumped against the wall. They had escaped from one castle dungeon only to find themselves in another. What would they do now?

"Let's have some light, don't you think?" came Nia's voice.

 "Sure," Siluetta agreed weakly.

Everyone fell silent and a few minutes later, the room was lit.

"So, what to do now?" asked Edwin. There was a silence.

"Escape?" offered Daniel.

"How though?" said Nia. "I am not performing that transportation spell again. It took all my energy last time."

They all looked at each other. What would they do? They certainly couldn't stay here forever.

"Well, I suppose we have no hope then," said Rose. Her voice was trembling, almost as if she was about to cry.

Just then, there came the sound of a key turning in the lock. The door fell open and a figure stood in the doorway. It stepped into the room, into the light, and Siluetta was filled with terror when she saw who it was.

It was the Dark Prince. "Y- you..." she stammered. "What are you doing here?" The prince looked at her.

"I have come to help you escape," he said softly.

Siluetta stared at him. How could this be happening? Surely they couldn't trust him. But just then, the magic book fell open and words began to appear once more...

Trust him. He is your friend and will help you on your quest. But trust no more people you meet in the Land of Darkness.

"Thank you," whispered Siluetta. She stood up and started towards him, her friends doing the same. Nia fluttered down and landed on his shoulder. The light went out when she left the room, and when they were all through the door, the boy took out his key and locked the door behind him.

"Quickly," he whispered. "We'll go out the back entrance through the kitchens. That way, no one will notice us. We'll have time for questions after we're safe outside. Follow me now."

He started off up the stairs, the friends following him. They turned off the stairs at a landing. The boy took out his key and unlocked a door to the left. They went through into a large kitchen, then the boy unlocked another door and beckoned for them to step through it. Once through the door, they were outside again. The sun was setting and the sky was ablaze with colours.

"I will fly us down okay," said Nia. "Then we can talk." Once again they flew down the mountain, and when they were finally at the bottom, the boy turned to them.

"Let me introduce myself," he said. "My name is Isaac. My father raised me to be evil. But I do not want to be evil. I do not want to be the Dark King. I want to live a simple life, a life of kindness, happiness and... and light."

The five friends looked at each other. "Well, then," Edwin finally broke the silence. "I suppose you can join us on our quest."

"What are you questing for?" Isaac asked them.

"We are not entirely sure yet," answered Edwin. "But one thing we know for sure is that we need to find a way out of the Land of Darkness and back to the light."

"I know of a way back to the light," said Isaac. "My father told me of it, but it is very far from here. We must set off at once."

And then, Isaac leading and the others following, the friends set off into the setting sun.
