Chapter 18- The Quiet Bay

By midday the next day the seven friends were sitting safely in a quiet little bay. The waves lapped the shore and everything was peaceful.

They had reached this bay at dawn and had hidden in it from the armies of the Land of Darkness. Within an hour of them being in there, the armies had given up and returned home to the Land of Darkness. The friends had known they were safe to leave the bay now, but they were so tired that they just made themselves comfortable on the sand and settled in for a well earned sleep.

When Siluetta opened her eyes, the sun was high in the sky. She went to wake up her friends.

"We slept too late," she whispered. "It's time to move on." Edwin took the magic book out of his pocket. "What do we do next?" he asked. The book opened and words began to appear. 

The new moon is almost here, so we must now go to to the Secret Glade. But the Secret Glade is very far from here and time is running out...

The seven friends all looked at each other. No one needed to speak, because they all knew that they had to leave the bay this instant. There was no time to lose.
