The friends stood up and rushed away from the bay, through the overgrown ferns and palm trees that had obscured it from sight. As soon as they were through, and out in the open, they began to run as fast as their legs could carry them, away from the bay. The book fluttered open in Edwin's hand.

You are going the right way.

As soon as they had all read it over his shoulder, he closed it back up and put on a new burst of speed. He didn't put the book away because he knew he would need it for directions.

They all kept running, through the forest, past the river where the otters lived, faster than they had ever run before. The book fluttered open again.

You will not be able to reach the Secret Glade on time by foot.

Siluetta's heart sank like a stone, but still she kept running, and so did her friends around her. They couldn't give up now.

They house with a carriage park next to it. The owner hadn't bothered to put the horse away in the stable, so it was still tethered to the carriage. The book fluttered open.

Steal the horse and carriage.

Siluetta looked at the others doubtfully. They couldn't just steal someone's property. It wasn't right.

The renewal of the light is much more important than someone's property. If you leave the horse and carriage, you will  not reach the secret glade on time.

That convinced Siluetta. She lead her friends over to the carriage, and they all climbed in. It was Daniel who took the reins and began to drive as fast as he possibly could away from the house.

You are going the right way. the book told them. Within an hour they reached a place that Siluetta recognised. She knew that Edwin and Nia would recognise it too, but none of the other friends would.

Stop. said the book. Daniel stopped the horse and the seven friends climbed out of the horse and carriage.

You have reached the Secret Glade just on time. Step into the bushes and and enter.
