Sports Day

"Uff"

Since the moment the coach nominated us, it had never been easy. Every day was hectic with us going around and collecting names, putting up notices for joining events, making venue arrangements and what not.

I lied on my bed and closed my eyes for a moment before there was a knock on the door.

I opened the door wide enough for Liam to enter before closing it behind him. For the past week it has been the same way. After dinner he would come and we would discuss on things we need to do.

"Ready for tomorrow?", he asked sitting on the floor leaning on the bed.

"Yep, it's just a bit tiring.", I said lying down on my bed and staring at the ceiling.

"You will get the hang of it soon.", he said.

"No shit. I have been the sports captain in my school and it was equally stressful too but it was worth it. The recognition, the appreciation and more importantly the badge, it's all worth it.", I said.

"So what is it that you came for?", I asked sitting up on the bed.

"Oh that, I need a list from you and for you to check a few things.", he said taking out a stack of papers.

And just like that two hours went by working in all that. By the time I went to sleep it was 11 in the night and I was out like a light.

Next day, I woke up at 6 in the morning and freshened up before heading out for my basketball practice scheduled at 6:30.

There was no regular coaching for sports apart from when we play during the PT period, so we had to have practice session for the match.

I had changed into practice clothes in the room itself so I headed straight to the field. I kept my bottle of water on the bench before greeting the others who had come.

There were other teams that were practicing too but that doesn't matter.

After five minutes all the others had assembled. I teamed up with Sam for basketball match while I went with Noel for football.

Sam was the team captain while James was the vice captain.

Sam and I didn't talk since I came as he was busy talking through things for the match.

We didn't have classes starting today for the whole week. We had the first event today which started at 10 in the morning and I being the sports captain had to be present for it. Anyone else can come to watch the game if they wished to. It wasn't compulsory for anyone except for the participants.

I had registered for almost every event except one or two.

After practice, Sam and I headed to the dorm.

"You are participating today, right?"

Today there was badminton and table tennis match which comparatively didn't have many participants. I had registered for both of them because why not.

"Yes. Make sure to come in the cheerleading outfit.", I said winking at him.

"Nooo, what if others ask me to cheer for them too? So I will just wear your favorite color blue so that you will know that I am cheering for you and only you.", he said waving and went to his room.

I shook my head before going to my room. I stood under the shower letting the water wash away all the tiredness and the muscle cramps.

After cleaning myself properly, I changed into the sports uniform and blow dried my hair.

I checked the time to see it was 9. I put my hair in a ponytail before heading to the canteen to have my breakfast.

There wasn't much crowd seeing that most of the boys were sleeping or practicing. I bought my breakfast before heading to our table where Seb and few other boys were at.
