"Chicken and beer? Aren't you awesome!"
Jimin jumps off from the parapet as soon as he saw what i brought, running towards me and takes the food from my hands.
I look around the rooftop in awe. It sure has different feeling since the sky has turned completely dark, unlike usual, but it's even more different now that there are lights everywhere.
"Woah, did you do this Jimin? It's so cool!"
He smiles proudly. "You said you wanted to have a little celebration, so i guess the lights make the mood better."
I sit down on the defected chair. He even arranged it properly, exactly like dining table. "Accurate. Where did you get them from?"
He points to the corner. "The box over there. I tried them out and they still work fine. I don't know why they put this here."
I nod. "Well well, now that everything's here. Let's start the party right away shall we?" I clap excitedly, opening the boxes's lids and reveal the fried chicken inside of it.
"Let's go!"
-Jimin's POV-
I really can't understand this girl. She didn't even bother to tell me that she never drank alcohol before, not until now.
And after the second can, she's drunk.
She leans her head on the table, her hiccups can't stop as she keeps on mumbling the things that only she can understand.
"Jimin-ssi," she calls out suddenly. "Why aren't you drinking? Do you have low alcohol tolerance, probably?" she mocks at me.
I roll my eyes at her statement.
The only one who has low alcohol tolerance here is you, girl.
"Jieun, you're drunk." I inform, in case she isn't aware. "Let's go home."
I was about to take the beer away from her hand, but she swiftly dodges and whines. "No~ I don't want to go home now~ I don't even want to go home at all!"
Oh, how troublesome this girl will be sooner. I better clean up now before she acts crazier.
I start to clean up everything by myself as she sings happily, doesn't even bother to help me at all. Well, she better not.
After some minutes, everything's back to its place. I let the lights hang there, probably we'll use it again someday.
I turn around and find Jieun sleeps peacefully with her head on the table. I take a deep breath, approach her to wake her up.
"Nam Jieun, let's go home. It's late." I flick my finger in front of her face for few times, but no it didn't work.
I stop to think for another method. When i get one, i put in on practice immediately.
"Where is your house? Let me know so i can bring you home!" I exclaim loudly in front of her face, but it fails too.
Ugh. Seems like we have no choice, do we?
-oOo-
Everyone stares at me when i get on the bus. Hands occupied with a box of leftover food and a girl behind my back. I can only ignore them and luckily, there's a vacant seat available for us.
I set her down on the seat before i take the spot beside her. Sighing in relief, i lightly punch my sore shoulders several times.
All the way down from the rooftop, all the way down to the nearest bus stop, all the way up to the bus isn't a very easy task, at least for me.
Just then, a loud thud surprises me, dispersing my thoughts. I turn to the source of the sound and realize that it was her head that bumped onto the glass window.
I sigh, guiding her tired head to lean on my shoulder instead.
I look out of the window, wondering whether this decision is right.
Should i just call Taehyung?
I fish out my phone and search through my contact. When i find Taehyung's name, i suddenly hesitate.
"Taehyung.."
I look down to find her mumbles in her sleep. "I.. hate you so much. Go away from my life you ugly bastard."
I turn in front, keeping my phone back.
Absolutely not.
When i realize that she starts sobbing, i take a hold of her hand. Leaning my head on hers, i whisper, hoping that she can hear me as my thumb circles on her skin. "Ssh. It's okay. He can't hurt you now. He can't."
I remember about everything she told me few hours ago, before she was drunk of course. I finally understood why she never ate ramyeon, drank alcohol, skipped class, or just anything people would've done in her age.
She's living a very strict life, and it's hard. She grows to fear her father, so it's very hard for her to rebel even once. So when somebody she truly loves left her, of course it gets worse.
I look at her, and unconsciously, my hand wraps around hers tighter.
-Jieun's POV-
I squint my eyes as the sunlight shines through. Groaning, i turn around to avoid the blinding light and cover my face with the pillow that i sleep on.
Ugh, my head hurts so bad.
I breathe, and i gasp at how horrible my breath smells like. I get up, trying to smell my breath few more times.
Ew! I smell like alcohol!
Wait up-
I look around, and slowly, the missing pieces are coming back together. The realization horrifies me.
Where the heck am i? What is this place?
It just looks like a normal bedroom. Unless it probably belongs to a boy.
I cover my mouth, screaming mentally.
Am i being..?
Before i could think further, the door suddenly flings opened, making me scream in shock.
"Jimin?!" I gasp, and cover my mouth as i'm aware of my bad breath.
"Good morning sleepyhead." He greets sleepily, heading towards the wardrobe.
"What happened last night?" I ask carefully, lowkey afraid to hear the answer.
He doesn't look at me as he rummages through the wardrobe. "You were kinda flirty last night.."
I what?!
"I couldn't really resist so we.. yeah, you know."
He ouches when i throw him the pillow that i'm holding.
"Don't lie." I warn, however backing away to the window.
I know he's not a person like that. So do i. At least not when we're sober. Oh my God no.
He turns to look at me, a playful smile on his face. "Of course we couldn't do that. You were fast asleep like a pig to the point i had to bring you to my house because you don't tell me where you live."
"So this is your house? Is this your bedroom?"
A dumb question. Of course this is his bedroom, he just took his clothes out of that damn wardrobe!
He nods. "Don't worry. I slept in another room last night. We didn't do anything bad, Nam Jieun."
He dodges successfully when i throw him another pillow, and he laughs after that.
"Come on out, my grandma cooks something for you." He points to the door with his head, before he starts to walk out himself.
"Wait, Jimin!"
He stops on his tracks.
"Can you like.. borrow me something to wear? I smell like beer."
