"Trust me, Kota," Mandalay smiled, trying to talk to the boy when he first arrived to the facility. "It will happen. You'll meet someone, and you'll finally understand why we do what we do."
Kota pulled his hat lower over his head, and Mandalay's eyes softened.
"Someone will risk their life, putting others first," Mandalay said quietly. "Someone will be...."
"No one like that really exists," Kota grumbled, looking up.
We're back in the present now. Kota was in his secret hideout, brooding on the edge of the rocky cliff. He suddenly stood up however, his focus turned to the smoke and fire raging in the forest before him.
What was going on?
A black cloak swished behind him.

5 Minutes Earlier
"Awww," Mina whined. "We wanted a chance to face off with all of the others."
"I thought Pixie-Bob said we'd be getting a reward," Kirishima groaned.
"This is more like torture," Kaminari complained. "I wanted a treat, Mr. Aizawa!"
"Do you also want me to tighten your bindings?" Aizawa glanced back, holding onto his scarf and leading the 5 failures back to their makeshift classroom in the facility, his scarf still holding tightly onto them.
"No..." Everyone muttered in response.
"Good," Aizawa nodded. "For tonight's lesson, we'll be talking about how to give aid in an emergency."
The 6 people all walked inside the facility as Aizawa spoke.
"If you don't become more aware that you're falling behind in your classes," Aizawa warned, releasing them all, "then a gap between you and your peers will continue to grow. In a broad sense, this knowledge is your reward. How's that for a treat?"
"I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up," Kirishima sighed.
Aizawa opened the classroom door, motioning them all in. They began to do so, but stopped. Something very dIsGuStInG was in that room.
"How strange!" Monoma cackled. "Who do we have here?! 5 members of Class A bombed the exams?! And there's only one Class B guy-!!"
"You failed too, idiot!" Sero retorted.
"This is going to be an amazing night," Kirishima groaned, taking a seat.
"Kinda worried about him," Mina murmured, sitting beside Kirishima as the Class 1-A kids watched Monoma lose his shit.
"Why don't we start with practice problems, Vlad?" Aizawa suggested.
"I was thinking the same thing," Vlad agreed. "Maybe we should pair them off-"
A sudden tingle disrupted everyone in the room.
Everyone! Mandalay yelled inside their heads, using her Quirk.
"That's Mandalay's Telepath," Kirishima realized.
"It's so cool!" Mina cooed. "It's giving me chills!"
"Sort of annoying, though, since we can't communicate back with-" Kaminari began.
"Stop talking," Aizawa ordered, dead serious.
Everyone grew quiet.
Two villains are attacking us! Mandalay warned quickly in everyone's mind. It's possible there are more on the way. Everyone needs to return to camp immediately! Do not engage!
