Zak's condition was not horrid at all. He would just escape by a few bruises and a new scar. As with Aaron, we were almost positive he wasn't going to make it. My emotions couldn't help but feel so much sympathy for him and I didn't know why. The man took my innocence for God's sake! Why would I feel sympathy? Because he rode with Zak and Nick? Or because deep down, Aaron wasn't a bad man at all, just deeply troubled.
His injuries were horrid as he lost at least two pints of blood. Surprisingly, Nick and Zak paid little attention as they thought he deserved this consequence.
-"You have to help him!" I pleaded as I grasped Zak's forearm, "I can't," Zak grunted as he tried to stand to his feet.
-"What do you mean you can't?" I asked stupidly, causing Zak to exhale deeply through his nostrils before taking my face in his hands, "Because, we have done all we could to help him. His injuries say otherwise." Zak explained.
I didn't know why I was crying for this man. I guess I just didn't like seeing a person die, no matter how bad of a person he once was. I dared to exit the medical tent in which Zak was in to join Nick, who closed Aaron's lifeless eyes as he and two other soldiers carried him off for his final resting place.
-"Are you okay?" Zak whispered in my ear from behind.
-"I'm fine I guess." I said as I shrugged my shoulders before turning around to face him.
-"What is she doing here?" Asked a fellow soldier outraged that a woman had witnessed a brutal fight.
-"Shut up man!" Zak defended as he held me in his arms snuggly.
-"She can't be here, Bagans!" Sargent Collins argued. Zak took his words into consideration as he and I both knew that it wasn't safe for me to be in this environment.
-"Won't you take her into town just a few miles from here." Collins suggested as Zak and I both nodded. Zak led me to his horse as he sat me on its hindquarters.
The ride into town was shorter than I expected.
-"Can you stay with me for a while?" I asked as I tugged on his coat as he stood with me at the doorway of my hotel room, "I don't know. I don't want Collins mad at me." Zak hushed.
-"I love a man in uniform.." I admitted as I innocently bit my bottom lip, watching as Zak's eyes travelled down my face, admiring my innocent behavior.
-"And I love a woman who lives in a man's world." Zak admitted as he pushed me by my shoulders farther into the room, unbuttoning my uniform as he shut the door. He stripped the coat from my shoulders, planting short and deep kisses on my pale shoulders as he pushed me on the bed.
-"You are so beautiful." Zak admitted as my clothes were now completely stripped from my body.
I proceeded to unbutton his coat from his torso, revealing his hard biceps and pectoral muscles. I struggled for the longest time to loosen his belt buckle as he chuckled at my struggle.
-"Need help?" He smiled as he easily unfastened his buckle, tossing it to the floor as he rested his right palm on my hip.
"I've craved you for so long." We both admitted to each other as our bodies talked for themselves.
Our palms ran over each other's skin, leaving intense emotion and pleasure with each touch and caress, goose bumps coating our skin. Moans of romance escaped our lips as Zak's thrusts showed his craving for so long - slow sex.
-"Are you okay?" Zak whispered as he noticed my emotions of more pain than pleasure, "Am I hurting you?"
-"N-no," I smiled, "You don't realize how feminine I am, Zak." I laughed as I ran my fingers through his hair.
-"Are you sure I'm not hurting you?" Zak asked as his thrusting stopped, leaving himself resting inside of me.
-"I'm sure." I smiled before Zak returned to softer thrusts, leaving small groans to escape his lips as I did the same. The thought of him releasing his seed never crossed my mind, but he wouldn't do that to me, would he? The thought grazed through my mind as I felt a warmer substance inside of me after Zak released a hard groan with a harsh kiss to my neck.
Zak rested himself inside of me as he rested his head on my chest. He listened to my heartbeat as I ran my hands through his hair, gently massaging his scalp.
-"I'm proud of you." I said through jagged breaths of my final pleasures.
-"For what?"
-"For being such a brave person. Not all men would go off to war."
-"Not all women would go to war either, you have no idea how amazing you are, Elizabeth Reed?"
-"I guess not. I did it for you." I smiled as my lips rested on his forehead, inhaling his romantic natural scent.
-"I love you more and more every day." Zak admitted as he looked up at me with his dark eyes.
-"I love you too more and more." I smiled back.
Zak's palms caressed my bare arms as dusk washed over the sky, leaving the room dim with the several lanterns scattered throughout the room.
-"You should stay here, it's not safe to travel back in the dark." I suggested.
-"I should, but I don't think Collins would like that." Zak frowned.
-"And I don't think I'd like the fact that you'll put yourself in more danger by travelling at night." I raise my brow, causing Zak to chuckle at my expression.
-"I'll stay darling." Zak smiled as he placed a kiss on my breasts before laying on his back, pulling my naked body into his.
