-"W-what?" I choked out as I looked at him in disbelief.

-"Did your ears go numb?" Mason said as he prepared himself to say the sentence again.

-"My ears are perfectly fine, I hope you're joking?" I stuttered. Mason chuckled, "No, I'm not joking. I've been looking for you, Elizabeth Reed, you can thank a Mr. Sullivan Jones for that," Mason hissed as he pulled me into his chest, "We're gonna pay your little lover a visit." Mason flashed a devilish grin as he pushed me into his horse's hindquarters before throwing me over, quickly mounting his sturdy steed before I could even have a slight chance of escape.

He pulled me over his lap to where my back was against his chest as his horse cantered into the valley. The ride was very painful as I sat almost directly on the saddle horn as the horse's withers rose and fall with every stride. He stopped his horse harshly as he met with the two men I hoped to never see again - Sullivan and George. They sat on their dark horses, one palm on the saddle horn, the other resting on their thigh with the split reins tangled between their fingers.

-"Long time, no see, huh?" Sullivan smirked as Mason held my arms tight to my sides as Sullivan dared to take a feel of my right breast.

-"Don't touch me!" I hissed.

-"We got ourselves a fighter!" George chuckled as he moved his horse closer to Mason's, taking a feel of my left breast as a disgusting treat for himself.

-"Are we ready?" Mason said to his partners as his horse pawed the ground.

-"Ready for what?" I cried before feeling a heavy sting on my cheek.

-"You dumb cow! Visiting your lover, of course!" Mason whispered as he kissed the area that his hand once was.

-"Shh...No need to be afraid." Mason assured as he motioned for Sullivan and George to join him on what he was about to say, "Their camp is right through this valley, get Zak and one of his partners to investigate the wooded area so we can surround them and do what I'm planning." Mason explained.

George dismounted his horse as he faked an injury to get Zak's attention, who was stalking the perimeter as he was the guard for the night.

-"Help!" George winced as he limped his way to Zak, who looked shocked at his sudden appearance from the darkness. Mason watched evily at the top of the hill as George led Zak and Nick into the woods to find the "wounded soldier."

-"Let's go!" Mason said as he motioned for Sullivan to follow him on horseback to their trap in the woods.

-"Zak!" I screamed into the darkness before feeling myself being thrown from the galloping horse and to the ground at Zak's feet.

-"Elizabeth!" Zak exclaimed as he kneeled to my side, wiping the blood from my slit forehead.

-"Zak, it's a trap." I cried as I looked into his dark eyes before he was jerkin to his feet by George while Sullivan dismounted his horse to capture Nick.

-"Don't you think about it." George hissed as he held his pistol to Zak's neck.

-"No!" I cried as I stood to my feet to run to Zak, being stopped by Mason as he threw me to the ground.

-"Don't you fucking put your hands on her!" Zak exclaimed as he tried to escape from George's grip.

-"Oh, I'm sorry, does that upset you?" Mason spat as he turned on his heel to deliver a hard blow to my abdomen with his heavy boot, releasing a scream from my cracked lips.

-"Please! Stop!" I pleaded. Zak's eyes were full of anger and fear as to what was going to happen next.

-"Yes, it fuckin' upsets me! What's your problem?" Zak asked as he and Mason were inches apart, standing off for my honor and freedom.

-"You shouldn't have rescued her that night. Things wouldn't have to turn out this way." Mason explained. Zak didn't want to listen to a word he was saying, he just wanted to keep me safe.

-"When I get my hands on you, you're fuckin' dead." Zak threatened.

-"I'm terrified of a Confederate." Mason snarled as he walked over to my aching body, lying helpless on the ground.

-"Me and your beloved are going to have a good time back at my hotel. Don't wait up." George said as he pushed Zak from his grip and to the ground.

-"Sullivan, keep him down and keep a gun on that bastard over there too." George demanded as he pointed to Nick, who didn't know what to do in this situation.

-"If you lay one finger on her-"

-"Or what? You're gonna die anyway if you come near me again." George hissed as he pulled me to my feet and behind his back.

-"Zak, please don't let him take me!" I cried.

-"Shut up you fuckin' cow!" George snapped as he backhanded me across the face.

"You're fuckin' dead." Zak promised.

"Put that on your tombstone." George spat.
